Relax my man. No bad intentions, just playful banter. I like to think when folks come to this site we can joke with eachother like friends or good co- workers. When it's all said and done, we all come here to be entertained and maybe learn something about the sport we love.
This is a place for serious boxing discussion not jokes or "banter" we're not kids or clowns. Grow up.
Serious boxing discussion: Remember how Fury and his wife Paris reacted when Wilder couldn't admit he lost? On Wilder not being able to admit he lost: “I was very surprised by that but he’s a sore loser, an idiot." Fury said... “To be a top fighting man, you've got to show guts and respect and he couldn't do it tonight. And that's it. He couldn't do it so I'll pray for him. I'm just thankful we all got out the fight in one piece and go home to our lovely families." Words. Great, sounds nice. A good sound-byte. Shame Fury couldn't live up to his own words or expectations.
That might save you further embarrassment and pwnage That was a joke. I actually think you are a good poster but if you put me on ignore (which of course you are more than in your right to do) it only shows that you cannot accept any facts or opinions you struggle to debate By all means, if that is your character, put me on ignore. I actually thought you were better than that, and I say that as a compliment
You know what, I'll humor you here. 1. Fury retired. AJ fight wasn't possible. 2. Fury was contractually obligated to fight Wilder after going to court over it. So fighting AJ wasn't possible here either. 3. Fury was still regarded as the lineal champion, and AJ and Wilders promoters made equally impossible demands off each other. The Fury fight was simply easier for his team to make. None of this mitigates the fact AJ and Wilder could have fought prior to their respective bouts to Parker and Wallin, and it was AJ who refused the fight after Wilder still called for it after his loss. If you want to discuss this further, make a separate thread.
I'm not feeling embarrassed at all. But that last comment of yours is unbefitting to yourself, and I won't engage with you moving forward if it continues.
And therein lies the catch 22 - the exact opposite holds for Usyk... A third win wouldn't add much to his legacy, but a loss (even an incorrect one) would tarnish the two wins he does have - silly money aside, there's just no value in it for the Cat, he's already got the cream. Realistically I don't think Fury fights again unless it's someone who's either not got the power to badly hurt him or is so hopelessly overrated that he can gain big credit for an okay win - but is there anyone with that kind of reputation/achievement mismatch (like Wilder was) right now? Nah. I think Fury knows the only way for his reputation now is down... And he cares more about that than the money or the challenge - a true born fighting man my ass.
Excellent post. There’s a few out there who could bowl him right over (imo) at this stage of his career and I don’t discount AJ having any chance to do same. We’ll just forever hear how Fury woulda beat AJ without Tyson ever actually having fought Joshua. Fury woulda beat Ngannou easily also…until he didn’t.
Exactly. And we'll hear how AJ ducked Wilder, and Wilder would've annihilated AJ thus putting Fury comfortably clear of the bodybuilding bum. It doesn't matter that AJ has a far deeper resume than Fury, it doesn't matter that AJ beat numerous legit contenders whilst Wilder didn't beat a single one... Them's the narratives and you ain't "proving" otherwise because the whole reason for the ducking was to make sure you couldn't. Fury's a good, clearly legit, contender who's been made out to be more than he is - in its own way, his reputation and hype has fallen into place in a way that the careful management of Wilders and to a lesser extent Joshua's couldn't quite achieve... The enigma, ladies and gentlemen.
Also, even if they did fight now. And Joshua knocked him out... It'd just flip the narratives - instead of AJ being shot and his mentality being ruined, he'd suddenly be "still prime" against a crippled and finished Fury. You could bet your reputation on it - but Fury won't.
