I can't be helped by a moron, no. Fury's been the underdog in four pro fights that happened and was a clear underdog against Haye, who ducked 7 days out. There's been nothing "risk-averse" about his career. You're just mad he hasn't lost yet.
Fury definitely will improve on this performance but he will not "easily" bounce back. He's getting older now and has placed a terrible strain on his body. Can't get away with that forever. I also question his overall commitment to the sport at this point. I think he boxes because he needs the attention, not because he truly loves the competition. He's going to pay the price for that eventually, and possibly against Usyk.
The game plan on what to do against Fury may be out: Speed. Jab his body. Don't fall for his feints. If he can't bully you with his size, he doesn't have much. From the clips I saw, it looked like he didn't know what to do with someone the same size as him. His chin may not be much better than AJ's, but his recovery is better. I think I'm leaning Usyk beats him now. Zhang might too, if he doesn't tire out.
Honestly, in the past, he has bounced back; and a fighter with his ability certainly has the capability of doing so….. But he trashes his body in between fights, and since Wilder 2, it’s been showing in his performances. He looked abysmal in Wilder 3 (im of the opinion that’s a large influence on why the fight was exciting - because Fury looked and fought like crap). So he’s looked bad more than just against Ngannou… Acknowledging all of this hardly makes one fickle, it’s just the truth. Many ATGs got away with poor between-fight behavior - none of the ATGs with longevity at the top did though.
Fury disgraced the sport in a way that it arguably never has been before. On top of that it really looks like he’s the reason the division ground to a halt in the last few years. It will be hard to forgive that without bouncing back and doing something spectacular and he at the very least doesn’t seem up to it anymore.
**** me, is that all you can say in support of him? That's IT?! ALL HAIL THE GREAT, ALL CONQUERING TYSON FURY. NEVER LET IT BE SAID THAT HE DUCKED ANYONE EVER. NOR THAT HIS APOLOGIST STANS WERE ABSOLUTE PLANKTON. People like you are almost as embarrassing as Fury was on Saturday night.
This... Wilder Hype train even fooled Fury, definitely fooled all Fury fans, who thought Fury had KO power and miraculous powers of recover. Truth is Wilder is another WBC fraud , paying off the WBC so he can cherrypick tomato cans as defences. Fury came along and just took Wilders place as the current WBC fraud
Lol says the Fury fan still in denial after Fury ducked AJ and Usyk to fight and get humiliated by a guy with 0 boxing experience. Fury been hiding with the WBC belt scared of Usyk and AJ... we told you so all along and now he was exposed.
I think the whole “disgraced the sport” talk is hyperbole… Francis Ngannou is a near-prime heavyweight world champion in respected MMA promotions - who is known as a good striker. Also, stylistically he was trouble for Fury. Fury has mostly abandoned the slick boxing element of his game in exchange for a rough inside game that relies on craftiness and physicality. Ngannou was physically stronger than Fury on the inside, and I think this is where he threw a wrench in the gears - he proved to be craftier too. He kept his composure and utilized his strength, frames, and positioning to keep Fury from doing what he has been able to do to virtually all of his opponents in recent years. Fury overlooked him and looked like crap for sure, he was stumbling around the ring like an oaf - but Ngannou deserves more credit than he’s getting. To that point, just like within boxing - styles make fights. Ngannou doing well against the Fury who showed up does not in anyway mean any MMA champion can come over and defeat or do well against a boxing champion….
Not to forget Francis is also a master striker do people believe he won't have sparred 1000's of rounds as a boxer and all his training over the years has consisted of him rolling around on the floor grappling with other men. Francis had the correct game plan and Fury clearly didn't train as he thought he would be in for an easy night.
Klitschko was a great fighter and even on a bad day (which IMHO he was) and even with significant spoiling, it's still a good win. Wilder OTOH is a fraud - his resume is absolutely laughable for a supposed top contender... It's no better than Chisora's, the difference being that Chisora dared to actually fight contenders (and picked up losses) and arguably got unlucky to lose to the same Dillian Whyte that Wilder ran screaming from.
Fury dug his own hole He knew Usyk was coming up So he should have been training and eating like a champion for the past year...but he hasn't. Now he will have a short break and he needs to hope his body responds correctly in camp or it's going to be a tough night.
