Fury has a good chance of winning. I think he will lose again but it will be a good fight. He will make good adjustments and will have good moments and it will be competitive. Usyk will watch and pick apart the first fight, learn and adjust to elevate his game. I don't see any different outcome to the fight, but it will be a different fight defensively speaking.
Now that you’ve seen Fury stumbling and getting drunk off his face night in and night out, I bet your opinion has changed. Fury gave everything for that Usyk fight, he won’t be as motivated like that ever again, Usyk will KO him next time
As others have pointed out, what version of Fury can we realistically expect in the rematch (and what version of Usyk)? Fury had a lot of success boxing on the outside and using movement. BUT he clearly didn't have the stamina to keep that up at the pace he needed against Usyk. Fury was as physically prepared as he could ever be for the fight we just saw (barring some illicit help), so I don't think that is a realistic route to victory. I guess he can hope that Usyk (who is getting older) suddenly drops off, but I'm not sure that is a realistic strategy to prepare for victory. I personally think Fury's route to victory is to hit, tie up, and basically make it an ugly fight. Then, hope the cards favour him. Fury was having some success with that strategy even as late as the 12th round. It won't be fan friendly, but it may well be the most likely route to victory. Alternatively, I guess it is possible Usyk gets old over night, but as above, I'm Not sure that counts as an adjustment for Fury.
Usyk has only to find the way to contrast Furys uppercuts. The rest is an easy job for Usyk who has Furys number. If Wilder is completely shot, Fury is half. Today the only fighter who can create problems for Usyk is Zhang. I told that several times: Fury wont be able to beat Usyk neither with the gloves full of plaster. When he least expects it Usyk will hit him with a superb combo right left again and Fury will start to dance again. Besides single Usyks left overhands and hooks can be lethal for everyone. They are fast and very accurate. Dont forget he broke a Joshua eye socket and Furys nose. Very good for a MW.
An eye completely closed without cuts is the clear sign of damage to an eye socket. However are many papers that confirm it and I believe them.
Fury has next to zero chance. He spent six months to get in the best possible shape and still could only win what, 3 rounds? Winning 3 rounds and landing about the same mount of high impact uppercuts might be enough to have the fanboys get their panties in a twist, but it was an extremely comfortable win for Usyk still, with a stoppage to finish it off. I don't care for corrupt referees, Fury was stopped in the 9th, he was staggering around without the ability to defend himself which, under Queensberry rules, means the fight is over. Fury is drinking himself to death while Usyk is already studying the fight and make notes about what to improve in the rematch. I mean, taking their approaches and attitudes into account, what in the world do the Fury fanboys think, how will the rematch go? If Fury takes the rematch (he won't), he will be stopped inside 8 rounds, guaranteed.
Poor ol Fury. I talk a lot of jive about him, but seeing the man staggering around crawling on his hands and knees kinda bugs me. Don't know why. Hope he prepares well and puts on a good performance for the rematch, which I am sure he will lose.
Fury made more mistakes that can be easily addressed than Usyk did. That's why I think Fury has more room for improvement and why I think he has a good chance in the rematch. Although I'll be cheering for Usyk like I did in the first fight.
because he was once called the hw champion of the world. to see him on his knees on the street, like a homeless wino, completely defenceless, is not the image boxing wants of its champions. on a personal level, its not behavior you see from serious men. i would walk by shaking my head if it was a 25yo nobody, let alone a middle age family man. just another level of respect hes losing, from another chunk of the fan base. and yes, i know lots of people dont live by any codes like that, and dgaf what fury does. but a lot of men do.
Whilst I think Uysk is too much of a professional for this, he has been talking about a movie with the Rock, and was surprisingly candid about how hard camp was for Fury and being hurt etc, so it's possible now that Usyk has achieved Undisputed, he takes his eye off the ball in the rematch, and isn't as focussed - plus he will have a bit more wear and tear, another camp etc. On the flipside, Uysk also noted what mistakes he had made in the fight, and how to correct them, so I very much doubt he prepares anything less than 110% for the rematch. IMO Fury's best plan is to start as strongly and as forward-footed as he can, and try and tag Usyk with an uppercut like in the 6th but earlier in first 3 rounds, hurt him and have the energy to follow it up and try and force a stoppage - sure it likely means he gets stopped later, but that's a strong possibility in any case.
