if john ruiz, fat midget chagaev, blubering oaf Valuev can win a piece of the title , fury can too....he just wont do it by beating Wlad, but his time will come

Considering how young he is, how many belts there are, how close Wlad is to calling it a day and how open the field looks I'd say he more than likely gets a piece

Now becoming a unified universally recognized champ is a different story

Fury will probably get at least 3-4 title shots if he keeps on fighting until he is 38 or so. Its hard to think he won't eek out a win in at least one of them.

yes he will , but he wont hold on to it for very long , heavyweight division has been terrible for years and is pretty much at its lowest point now , fury has come along at the right time to win one , same as when bruno finally won a version , it was never going to last long . he may get 1 year out of being champion until joshua takes over .

No one is a heavyweight champ unless they beat vlad in my eyes. Winning some other piece due the the ridiculousness of the alphabet sanctioning bodies does not make you a world heavyweight champ, beating vlad does period.

Fury's said himself he'd much rather take on and beat Wlad than fight for a vacant title.

Even though you are bit too cynical at times, you are one of the most objective posters on this board. :good

If he really meant that, then why did he mention at three different occasions that "Wlad can always vacate the belt if he doesn't want to fight me". It's obvious Fury is dreaming of fighting some beatable guy for the vacant WBO belt and then milk it instead of fighting Wlad and then be left with a decent one-time purse but nothing else.
