Prime vs prime, I pick Fury. I wouldn't be surprised if Vitali beat him though. The best heavyweight of this century is clearly Lewis, than Fury, then the Klitschko brothers. Wilder and AJ are both overhyped and overrated.
If Fury beats prime Klitschkos than why he was almost KOed by Wilder and went to war with Wallin? I'm sure that even if Fury would lose in his next fight people will still go on posting how he is the greatest ever and was not in shape that day.
Why did Wlad lose to Purity, Brewster, and Sanders, and go life and death with Peter and Williamson? Its boxing. These things happen.
But Wladimir also had almost 70 fights at HW and was the champ for over 11 years. If Wladimir had Fury's resume, a win over a 40 year old champ and a couple life and death fights vs mediocrities like Wallin and Wilder people would not take him serious at all.
Fury should have given Wlad a rematch just to be sure he had his number. Didn't happen ... I remember all the BS involved at that time. I like Fury and respect what he's done in recent times, but IMO he really needs a solid set of top 10 wins against fighters not named Wilder or well past their prime before he can lay a claim to be up there with the all time greats. He needs to fight and beat Joshua.
Fury would win but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think it would’ve been quite competitive. Vitali in his prime was more aggressive than Wlad. He would’ve brought the fight to Fury for sure. Probably would’ve gotten outpointed but it would’ve been a scrap. Vitali could punch. I’m still pissed we never saw Vitali-Lennox 2. I honestly can’t blame Lennox for not being interested in that rematch. Lennox had 1 foot on his way out and Vitali was hungry.
Fury beats Joshua. But definitely a much better fight than Wilder. Unlike Wilder, Joshua can box a bit.
Ali had that advantage, 70’s and he was fighting bigger stronger tougher men than the 60’s in general. Little fighters gave him problems to to be fair if they could jab
