It was an entertaining trilogy, sure - it's just nothing special in resume terms.

Sure I guess we disagree a little. I don't think Wilder is a top tier ATG or anything but I think he was a elite fighter at the time.

I think Wilder was okay... A fringe contender at best - he'd have had a punchers chance with most and had heart, but he lacked the skills and chin to be rightly favoured against legit contenders.

His resume pretty much bears that out - he never beat a legit contender and lost every time he fought one.

In some ways, his avoidance of contenders for most of his career (amassing a long unbeaten title run by beating on journeymen and the occasional gatekeeper) made the hype build up to a crazy degree, and even in the cold light of day many still can't see just how manufactured he was.

Elite? Absolutely no way - to be elite you have to fight serious contenders and prove it... Wilder didn't.

    This.

There used to be a (bad) joke along the lines of,,,

Did you hear about the **** beauty contest.

( **** Insert whichever ethnicity you want to insult. Irish / Polish / Ukrainian / Welsh / etc )

    There was no winner !

Well that's how I felt about the Wlad / Tyson fight...it had no winner and it wasn't even a draw !

If I had to render a judgement, I would give it to Fury....two rounds to one with nine even.

Absolutely dreadful spectacle...about as exciting as watching Rosie O'Donnell strip.

Fury would lose to Prime Ali.
    Shutout / stoppage each a 49 % probability.
    (I'll a 2% probability of Fury victory).

    Against Lennox ?

Fury is getting KO'd, and early.

And best version of Oleksanr probably outpoints the best version Mike.

    Carry on.

Furys Elite when he wants to be he should have beat Usyk in fight 1 but didnt take it serious and should had finished the job when he had the chance

But to say he beats Ali Lennox and why not add Tyson while your at it too is madness

Same goes for Usyk he would have been destroyed by the above even Holyfield would have destroyed him

The heavyweight division has been poor for the last 20 years or more

Yeah Fury Usyk Aj has brought some kind of credit to a poor divison but to say they would beat some of the greats maybe the greatest ever is ludicrous

    Is this thread serious?

Usyk is dimensionally identical to Ali -- so no size argument can be made. Watch pre-exile Ali. Watch the Usyk who beat Fury twice. What does Usyk do better other than escape from attempts at a clinch? Everything else, pre-exile Ali is superior. Far lighter on his feet, far quicker foot speed, far quicker hand speed, even looks far harder hitting.

Lewis? Oh come on. With how easy it seems to be to knock Fury down? Even his elite recovery won't save him if Lewis gets him early in a round. Another point in Lewis's favor -- neutralizing any grabbing tactics by Fury. Too big/strong for Fury to manhandle, and have fun eating some uppercuts for your efforts. Lewis's one apparent weakness -- chin -- wouldn't be relevant against Fury, because Fury lacks the power to take advantage of that.

Post-exile Ali? Fury at his best would cause him real issues. I'm unsure who would win. Lewis at his best is I think an almost guaranteed loss for Fury.
