Is it my impression or Fury went down in the 2nd KD because of the effects of the bomb that caused his first KD? I didn't see clear punches by Wilder in Fury's second KD..
Legs weren't quite under him yet, Got pulled down. Probably the longest period that Fury has been hurt during a round. Remained calm and knew exactly what he needed to do, avoided Wilder's immediate follow ups just like AJ managed against Wlad. Pretty sure even if Wilder landed some follow ups Fury could eat them as he did in their first bout and against Cunningham
It looked exactly like that. I think Fury went down on purpose because he needed more time to recover. I don't blame him. If he truly did do that it was the smart thing to do
Illegal clump right round the back of the mind/pull down. Two of the four KDs he registered over Fury in the trilogy were illegal shots to the back of the mind Fury dropped him five times throughout the trilogy, was denied another legit KD in round 3 of Baptism II when a badly hurt Dosser tried to rugby tackle him as he was on his way down. And he was very close to going down on one or two other occasions in baptism III albeit to his credit he managed to right himself before doing so even though his lights went out briefly for one of them. You can argue that one of Fury's KDs was an illegal punch to the back of the mind too. However, after spending hours studying the footage meticulously in my laboratory with my team I have come to the conclusion the punch actually skimmed around the back of the mind after landing on his ear.
To me, looked like Wilder was holding Fury’s head in place with his left hand and then hit him with a right that was probably behind the ear. Pretty illegal all around really. It wasn’t a particularly hard shot though, I think Fury still being on wobbly legs was the bigger issue.
He was still out of it from the first knockdown and Wilder seemed to more or less club/push him down on the back of the head for the second.
The clump [Serge™] to the back of the dome sent him down, but Wilder was only able to land it to such effect because Fury was still in the process of getting himself together from the first KD (although he'd actually landed a good shot himself just before that second KD). EDIT: Just saw Serge has already been in here. Saw that avatar on Paris' IG earlier. Teen Tyson looking just like latterday Shane.
