I'm curious what'll happen to them?

I believe when Ali was stripped that the Ring Magazine still recognised him as champion.

    What do you think?

In the statement he's made it clear that he's still the lineal champion.

If he'd retired pending treatment it would be different but he's made it very clesd he's coming back and that he's still the world champion.

A man makes the belt, not the other way round.

he dropped all alphabet belts, including the IBO.
with the Ring's policy, he will have broken 2 championship rules by May next year, and maybe 3 or 4, so the chance of keeping that one isn't that big either.

he will maybe still have the mythical 'lineal' title, but that might be vacated too if the nandrolone and refusing testing issue ends badly for Fury too.

He will keep The Ring title.

Canelo vacated his middelweight belt and he wasn't stripped. Plus guys like Ward, Rigondeaux, Stevenson, Mayweather (154), Hernandez held them a lot longer than their policy states.
