Fury's Inactivity and Level of Opposition Since Defeating Wlad

Fury has had delays before big fights when he holds the cards
Wladimir rematch
Wilder defence
Usyk first fight

I felt the Usyk return would be tougher for Fury as he would have to go through with the fight at that date or potentially have Usyk move on
I wouldn't be shocked that if Fury had have beaten Usyk, that he may have retired again or delayed the rematch

 

Lots of top fighters only fight 1-2 times a year. Fury is no different.

Facing Usyk, Usyk, Wilder, Wilder, Wilder, with many of those fights being away is a lot of risk.

Whyte was still dangerous and top 5. Go back an additional year and you have the biggest risk a HW has taken in a long time which is facing champion Klitschko in Germany. Definitely not a stacked deck, risk averse career. Quite the opposite, actually.

 

Mike Tyson beat more than 3x the ranked opponents that Fury has despite losing 4 years to prison. That's not a great look for Fury

 

Most fighters are recongized for their highest highs. Because if this wasnt the case, no one can say a damn **** about Mike Tyson. Because Mike Tyson after he won the titles, fought all ranked opponents
