He’s not a coward as he got in the thing with Wilder 3 times and those fights were more physically demanding and dangerous than Usyk and AJ would be.

However, all this bravado about not caring about legacy just money is a lie too, he knows a loss to Usyk would damage his legacy and he’s not willing to risk it

 

You can't refute anything I said. I get that you despise Fury but don't be making excuses when Fury wins. I don't want to hear "well Usyk's a featherfisted cruiser, so Fury gets no credit" or "Usyk struggled with journeyman Chisora and AJ's a hypejob weightlifter who quit against Ruiz, so what does beating Usyk prove". If Fury wins he has a win over the CW and southpaw HW GOAT and one of the best ever H2H.

 

I still kinda hold a grudge about that. After ending Wlads 12 year undefeated streak, he should have went through with the rematch. If anybody deserved a rematch it was Wlad. And I think the Wlad we saw against Joshua would have been in there with Fury. Much more aggressive. So who knows what would have happened.

Imo if Wlad had the titles still when he fought Joshua, he wouldn’t have been 2 years rusty and his confidence would have been a little better than it was. Most likely the fight would have been in Germany too. Wlad wins that one imo.

 

Next to the word Dosser in the dictionary will forever be his picture.

 

Come on man, I am not a Fury fan whatsoever. But no way did he duck AJ. Why would he? The Trilogy put pay to the AJ fight happening, and AJ never avoided Fury either.

 

It's Usyk who needs to beat Fury to prove himself as king of the hill. Usyk is the second fiddle as things stand currently.

Having said that, if Fury wants to continue his reign, he has a duty to fend off his chief doubter. If he has no desire to honor that duty, he should retire. But he won't, because he does.

They will fight, and we'll find out what's what.

I don't think he'll ever go down as a coward. He'll go down as having a very thin 0 probably and stay an arguable case for different spots in HW lists based mostly on that. I always remember this guy saying how he could never be like Klitschko and stay disciplined and on top for all those years and defenses even though he was sure he'd beat him and whoever he's fought. That's probably all pretty realistic. He can retire again whenever and it's all the same. He wasn't built to be George Foreman or Larry Holmes.

In the dirt. You cant expect to ride off into the sunset and be considered an ATG Heavyweight and not fight the man whos your biggest rival, who has the other 3 friggin belts! Sorry, but beating Wilder just isnt enough.

 

Now to the very first comment on the topic: AJ ducked Fury, so that adds a credit to Fury for truly being good, it's like a victory. We'll see if he'll avoid Usyk or it'll be Usyk who'll avoid him. The latter case will count as the one with AJ, so in a way, he'll have a good legacy for being avoided because of being too good. Yes, it's not the same if he fights these guys, but it doesn't depend only on him. Now how about Usyk's legacy as a heavyweight if he doesn't fight Tyson, Joyce, Wilder? He can't have a legacy with victories over a bag as Witherspoon, a boing bag as Chisora and one good boxer as AJ.

Don't play the game with the belts one is holding - Fury had all the belts then, Usyk still doesn't. But they mean nothing, it's just a symbol or rather a shadow of a one. It's also not valid that Fury's victory over Wlad and Wilder are less great than the Usyk's over Joshua - those all very good victories.

It's time to leave that "ducking" and let them do what they intend. They're both great, but both have some more to prove for a better legacy.

 

Fury doesn't care about legacy, he said that a few years ago, he is a hypocrite who will say that money is not important to him, but in fact money is everything to him, even though he has more than enough of it...
