Otto Wallin is a small guy, hasn't fought anybody, and so on. There is many things you can say to downgrade Wallin.

Rewatching that fight really says alot about Tyson Fury's heart. It was one of his last fights where he actually showed every aspect of his skill set too. I think this fight, along with the Christian Hammer fight is one of his best performances.

It was bad, sloppy but you can never question Fury's heart in a fight.
He had to fight trough a bad cut, and grind out a win.
Since he was dressed mexican it was fitting but overall it was much harder than expected.
I felt it was a 7-5 type clear win and Otto dhould have had a point deducted. but if Wallin had that cut it would have been stopped early.
He also got rocked badly in the final round.

If you think about it Fury could have had losses vs Wilder and Wallin and it would have been totally acceptable.

No it wouldn't , wilder (first fight) & wallin won about 5/6 rounds in total from those 24 rounds with Fury .. nobody in their right mind could score that fight Wilder and Wallin was pummelled once Fury had found his rhythm despite the cut

It’s a good thing Whyte ducked Wallin after all, we didn’t need to see Fury in yet another redundant rematch.

Wallin fought good fight and has some potential. Fury showed heart with the bloody cut. A good show from both men for different reasons. I think Wallin is avoided now by the name fighters. He's a risk.

Small guy? Wallin is 6-6, 240 pounds and a southpaw. Wallin would dwarf the "Big" George Foreman (6-3, 217) that beat Joe Frazier. A 6-6, 240 pound southpaw would be avoided in any era.

I like Otto but not all that high on him.

    The cut was ghastly though.

Wallin is a very good fighter. It's a shame how his career is being ruined by his inactivity.

Fury came in overtrained against Wallin.

He started dropping too much weight in camp which they acknowledged too late.

Wallin fought a great fight early doors.

Wallin is 6'5" minimum and 230+ lbs, how is he a small man?

I dont mean that. If the ref waves it off after Wilder put Fury down in round 12 nobody would say it was unfair. We have seen that countless times.

If the ringdoctor says the cut was too severe and wallin tko6's Fury nobody woukd say ****.

In that way he was lucky.

I exaggerated a bit on that! Goes to show you how Fury's size will play games with my head.

Thats when a proper solid boxer with skills fights in the heavyweight division, if Wallin had more power hed be knocking on the door as champ/. Fury was not expecting Wallins solid skills.

They say Big John Fury and that, whilst Wallin was alot bigger in the interview when they were standing next each other about 2-3inches taller and wider. language is a great tool.

It wasn't a great performance in my opinion. Fury has a habit of fighting down to his opponents level at times. Wallin hasn't proved anything since the Fury fight and until he does I can't rate the performance as anything special.

But what Fury did do in that fight which was impressive, was raise his level when required, adapt and alter his style and find a way to take control and then dominate Wallin. Fury isn't just some one trick pony, Fury's the type of fighter where even if he's struggling or losing he can turn the fight around, not by landing a big punch but by figuring out his opponents and altering his approach. Only special fighters do that.
