Are you really trying to suggest this is the equivalent of a prime Wilder? Just because Wilder had a poor resume when he was younger?

Otherwise, I don't get the point of your post.

The very notion today's Wilder is nearly as good as he ever was is just laughable.

This Wilder wouldn't have beaten Ortiz 1, wouldnt have had the timing to knock down Fury in Fury 1, and would have been demolished inside a few rounds in Fury 3.

It's not comparable and attempting to spin it as if it is, considering the objective contexts at play here is just kinda silly, imo.

Imagine thinking a 38 year old whose fought one round in over 2 years and was almost killed in his last actual fight is objectively, physiologically, the same fighter as he was 5 years prior.

You do realize that Wilders entire game is based on timing and fast twitch explosion right?

Ya thats definitely the same lol.

Fury the 1st time was not long coming back from a 3 year lay off on a cocaine binge being 100 pounds overweight......Wilder got destroyed in their 2nd fight, and in their 3rd fight Fury was grossly overweight he weighed the same as he did vs Ngannou.....and despite that still got knocked out where as an MMA fighter was more competitive vs Fury who was in exactly same shape as he was vs Wilder 3 277 pounds.

Wilder also lost every single round in the trilogy outside of the rounds he knocked Fury down in!!!!!

That's because Tyson beat a whole host of ranked fighters and stopped them so he was far more proven....when Tyson was champion in 80s he beat 8 ranked fighters and stopped two ATG's in Holmes, Spinks, in a 4 year period. That's quadruple the amount of ranked fighters Wilder beat in his whole career!!!!!

And his win over Spinks would be equivalent of Usyk getting destroyed now.

What quality ? Wilder's boxing skills are not elite and he relies heavily on his right hand power to bail him out of trouble, the only difference was tonight was he was up against a capable Heavyweight with a solid chin.

What fighters has Wilder beat where he's showed quality ? lets look at his title reign......Arreola 2-2-1 in his last 5 fights, Szpilka, Molina, Stirverne, Duhaupas, Washington, Breazele. Any notable Heavyweight champion in history would breeze past this opposition and most likely wouldn't have as much trouble as Wilder did vs a few of these opponents......

He's never beat anyone as good as Joseph Parker might have something to do with that......

    You're overrating Parker.

Parker isn't that much better than Ortiz.

but also imagine rating wilder based on his L’s against another extremely overrated glass jawed oaf Fury and rating Fury based on his pathetic win over ancient wlad and rating him
while knowing that fury was juiced against 40 year old klit

    This.

Wilder was so obviously a shadow of his former self tonight. It makes me really wonder how much boxing some people have watched not to notice this. And no, it wasn't Parker's dynamic offense that was befuddling Deontay.

Ortiz of a few years ago was leagues better than Parker.

Been getting stick on this forum for years.

My two opinions have been validated:

    1. Wilder is the most protected and overrated HW ever.

    2. walli would be the 7th best opponent AJ has beaten after Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker Ruiz and Pulev.

Because you're basing "Wilder's prime" on fights against C class Heavyweights which has no relation or context to how he performed vs Parker. When has Wilder ever fought a capable Heavyweight like Parker with a solid chin who could back him up ?

Wilder knocked out Helenius easily in his last fight who gave Joshua a good fight and Joshua himself today looked like a million bucks. So there was no evidence of Wilder suddenly becoming "shot" when he dealt with Helenius with ease.

As for Ortiz again Wilder lost pretty much every round to Ortiz did he not ? until his power bailed him out correct ? he wasn't a better boxer than Ortiz and he had to rely on his power to bail him out of that situation. The difference with Parker is that Wilder cannot fight on the backfoot and Parker exposed that aswell as having the chin to deal with any shots Wilder did manage to land.

Ortiz has beaten who exactly? No one.

Parker has beaten 3 opponents better than Ortiz ever had in Ruiz, Wilder and Takam.

I'm sorry I can't indulge a conversation where someone can sit there and honestly think a 38 year old out of the ring over 2 years (practically) is the exact same fighter he was at 32, before beatings and before a 2 year layoff.

    It's completely ridiculous.

All the poking of holes of Wilders resume, which I agree with you on for the most part, doesn't change that.

You can pretend being a 38 year old coming off helacious beatings and two years of inactivity has zero effect and he's exactly the same fighter, but it's simply fantasy and I doubt many professional fighters or coaches would agree with you. They tend to know how badly beatings, age and inactivity can effect a fighter.

That and Parker at his best has always been a top 10 HW. Seemed to flip the script again this year after Joyce loss.

So Joshua destroys Wallin who cut Fury and took him the distance over 4 years ago and that makes Fury’s resume destroyed lol. That’s like saying Fury beat a prime Chisora better than Usyk beat a faded Chisora years later so Usyk isn’t all that, complete and utter B*llocks ! There is a reason that it’s Usyk and Fury fighting for Undisputed and nobody else and may the best man win without controversy.
