Great performance from Fury, but Whyte was shot to pieces. There’s no need to compare Joshua’s and Fury’s resumes. Fury is clearly the better fighter, end of story. The fight we need to see is Fury vs the winner of Usyk Joshua 2 (probably Usyk). I think Usyk beats Fury but I could be wrong.
How anybody can compare the two records I will never know. Joshua fans love to discount his embarrassing losses (one of which is the most embarrassing in history) and dismiss the fact his only top level win is against Fury’s sloppy seconds, at Wembley, in a bout he went life and death. Fury is a sensation. poor @Mitch87
did you say that before the fight? literally NOBODY said Whyte was shot before the fight. he simply got exposed against the elite, he happened to come up against one of the greatest heavyweights ever.
Fury just needs to beat Usyk, and koing Joshua would be a nice icing on the cake to his resume. Too early for him to retire now, after being so inactive over the last 7 years.
He'll go down as better than AJ/maybe best of his generation as it stands (though if he retires, brother usyk might change that), but if he beats the winner of usyk vs joshua he'll go down as one of the greats, maybe even a goat heavyweight contender.
Spot on about comparing them. Fury is the better man, period. Both have resumes that are, dare I say it, good, and both have a place in boxing history. Fury's is higher, is all.
Plus Fury best Vlad in his backyard, when he was top dog. When AJ thought Whyte, Whyte was Southern Area level at the time.
He has a very good resume. If AJ has fought and beat Wilder before Tyson came back, the discussion might be different. Too much time wasting in trying to make the fight between AJ and Wilder left the door for Tyson to come back and reign supreme again.
That is a good objective look at it. Other than the fact Furys win of Wlad is better because he took Wlad’s 10 year undefeated newborn V card. AJ was beating an already beaten belt less man who was highly inactive
I’d be disappointed if he retired right now with his record. A fantastic win over Klitschko, a couple over Wilder then a KO over pudding Whyte. There’s so much more he can achieve and you’d expect it with relative ease. He could / should wipe the division and (attempt to) unify.
Leave Joshua out of it and do you think Fury has got the resume his ability deserves? I don’t. He needs to fight on to cement his legacy.
