Another post re Kessler v Abraham got me thinking. In a few years we could have a light heavy division consisting of Pavlik, Abraham, Kessler and Dawson. There doesnt appeal to be much appeal at MW and SMW for these fighters to stay there. How do you guys think theyd rank in the same division? My opinion 1)Kessler 2)Dawson 3) Pavlik 4)Abraham
i dont think dawsons all hes cracked up to be too much hype around him... i believe kessler would smoke him and froch would give him a good fight also and maybe take a decision
Dawson is very dangerous because of his speed with hand and movement, he would give a fight like kessler fits and he is also a lefty. he would beat kessler
I would pick Kessler at 175 over Dawson but that's just about it. As for Pavlik and Abraham, I'd like to see how their power stands at 168 before I rank them at 175. If Pavlik can't carry his power up, he loses a lot of his game...if Abraham's power doesn't follow with him to 175, his turtle shell style is less effective. Both need to be tested at 168 before we go upwards.
i think the future of all the above metioned fighters(minus dawson) is at super middle. The only future fight at LHW is dawson(Joe C, Roy Jnr, B Hop, Tarver all retiring). Super middle is looking good for the next couple of years.
I'd back anyone of the top promising fighters to beat kessler, especially dawson. He's living off his loss to calzaghe, he went life and death with mudine who only a year later was destroyed by an unknown fighter in crazy kim(he won but got dropped so many damn times!)
Once the old farts retire, there won't be any big money names at 175, and thus there won't be any reason for anyone to move up there. 168 will be much more of a money division than 175, and I wouldn't be terribly shocked to see Dawson try to move down for a few fights to get bigger money, even though he'd probably be better served by not doing so.
I don't think abraham will go to lhw, pavlik might. But there are some very good prospect's coming through at 175 tavouris cloud, beirbuit shumenov and that guy from chicago.
