Well, another controversial and premature ending to a big fight. Its no secret that Boxing is definitely in decline and I doubt that last nights incident would have helped. This is the second big fight in the past month, which has ended prematurely and surrounded by controversary. Regardless of the decision, right or wrong, dislocation or no dislocation, foul or no foul - The public have been robbed of yet another Boxing experience. Now based recent big fights such as Floyd-Ortiz and Hopkins-Dawson. Would you question purchasing PPV for future boxing events? I definitely would...and as for attending fights and forking out for tickets etc, I for one would think long and hard before dipping into my pockets. These guys at top level are renumerated quite handsomely for their work and should really try and give something back to the fans. For instance, regardless if you buy the injury or not, I doubt you who would book a Hopkins PPV event again? That one down, Mayweather one of the superstars of Boxing, I personally would reconsider spending good money after the way we were robbed of a potentially entertaining fight after the manner of stoppage. Despite the fact that it was within the rules, the biggets losers were once again the fans of the sport! I mean within the UK, Sky who are the biggest sports network in the UK, have already abondoned PPV Boxing, for now anyway, simply as the public are left disappointed and are becoming more and more frustrated by lacklustre performance and controversy, which is fast becoming the norm within Boxing. Its now difficult for fans of the sport within the UK to watch mainstream US fights, as the big networks aren't interested in airing fights in the UK, due to waining support for the sport. This will push most within the UK in the direction of illegal boxing streams etc, which obviously takes money of the sport... Boxing is fast become more and more disapointing, come on all, give the fans more for their money and keeps this sweet science alive... Multiple choice poll attched.
I dont know if the CSAC have any rules for suspending fighters for un-sportsman like conduct,But they should enforce something like that to keep cheaters and quiters from ripping the fans off and killing the sport.
