I like Diaz but GSP would beat his ass!!

 

GSP said he is going to beat Diaz unlike any beating ever in the UFC because of the way Diaz has disrespected him.

I don't like how emotional GSP is being> just watching him last night respond to Diaz's comments in the ring was weird. It's not like GSP to even react to such gibberish. Diaz seems to be under his skin and it's either a good thing or really bad. If GSP fights well when it's personal than Diaz is in all sorts of trouble, but GSP strikes me as a guy that fights well when he remains professional. He's not dumb, that's for sure.

Gsp is not a better boxer than Diaz. If they fought eachother under boxing rules GSP would get smashed. Diaz style is not pretty but is is certainly effective. He's a swarmer, his objective is to overwhelm his opponent by any means.

 

Rewatch GSP Vs Jake Shields. GSP lands his jab nicely, and then tried to land that awkward Chuck Lidell-esque looking looping overhand right all night and it was just not very effective, particularly toward the end where Shields started countering and closing the eye.

Diaz punches in combination. He does this very well and mixes his combinations up.

Against Shields, all night, Shields would lean his torso back to avoid the right hand. If someone taught GSP to hook off a jab in that fight, he would have stopped Jake in 3.

But GSP plays a safety first game plan, Diaz is more dynamic in his striking and I think he will set a pace and land at a rate that that convinces GSP he will need to wrestle to victory.

GSP will not want to stand and trade with Diaz because Diaz will stay in the pocket and quite possibly catch GSP backing out from an exchange.

 

GSP will beat Diaz standing and on the ground, GSP has better boxing on the outside with his jab and will mash nicks face with it and then when nick try's to close the distance an get inside where he likes he'll be put on his back! Thats how IMO the fight will go!

 

Nick is a mthrfkn badass but I honestly do not think he has what it takes to beat GSP. Something tells me the ref in that fight will stand them up a shitload of times.

I suspect some people are going to be wincing after super bowl weekend when someone bumps this thread. Diaz takes damage better than GSP, but he also gets hit a hell of a lot more. Diaz is probably a better puncher than GSP (discussing MMA in terms of being a better boxer or wrestler is close to nonsense) because he's more comfortable with throwing combinations and mixing things up and has a better reach, but GSP can deal with reach issues by throwing kicks that Diaz can't. Either way, I suspect GSP will stay on the feet long enough to set up the takedowns and that will be that. The people Diaz has fought recently have declined to try to take him to the ground but GSP is in another league and has totally out grappled and owned BJ Penn and Matt Hughes on the ground; I highly doubt he'll have much to worry about with Diaz. The way Diaz bleeds, I can see GSP getting a GNP stoppage on cuts and gore. If not, then a wide UD the same as Diaz used to lose in his last run in the UFC.

 

I gave the first round to Penn. Diaz did well but Penn won convincingly by landing nice left hooks, uppercuts, and scored a takedown. But pressure tends to bust pipes especially when Penn has very questionable stamina. I had a feeling Penn would lose going into the fight not because Diaz is a better technical fighter but because Penn would get outworked and the size disparity would be a problem. They look like they are from two different weight classes. BJ was doing great in the 1st round. It seems he just didn't have the punching power and stamina to keep Nick off him for 2 more rounds.

As for GSP he will be tested. I imagine he'll have the toughest fight of his career but I think he'll pull off the win. I know Shields' hands gave him some trouble. But I don't think Nick is that great of a boxer that he can actually do twice as much damage as Shields. Draw aside it's a guaranteed win for me because I've been itching to see either guy lose for a very long time now.

 

I love Nick Diaz (No Homo). I've said it on here before; the guy is the anti-GSP. He doesn't go out to win an MMA match, he goes out to win a fight.

 

GSP would make it look easy. He might even outbox him. Difference with GSP is he has as good a cardio as Diaz.

 

DIAZ is gonna beat the **** outta GSP.

When he does that ****, his ass is gonna go to boxing and then DIAZ is gonna get the **** beat outta him by some LOW LEVEL NOBODY BOXER.

What's funny is that some unskilled wannabe Margarito is busting up MMA wrasslers (scared to get hit) easy, and making them look like **** after 1 round.

Imagine the REAL Margarito in there. This **** is pathetic.

Once Diaz is gone, MMA will return to homoeroticism that guys like STOO love.

I was wrong about Diaz before the Penn fight, I though he was extremely overrated. I don't anymore.

With that being said, GSP is going to absolutely wrestle **** him and beat him to holy hell.

 

It wasn't Sheild's hands that gave GSP trouble, it was his finger than he jammed in his eye. People seem to forget that GSP was 100% owning Sheilds until that eye poke and then he got more tentative. Take anyone who's a better striker than someone else and put and eye patch on one eye and see how they do after that.
