On boxrec someone saying only 3 tickets were sold at the actual box office.

 

Chris Walker mentioned on boxrec that aparently only 3 tickets had been sold from the box office for this fight which raises the question. Who was actually promoting this event?

Its not good and not only has massive knock on effects on the fighters and fans you would think he would show it for a bit of content on boxnation. Its silly how few domestic shows have been made since BN appeared.

They are relatively cheap he has ticket selling prospects so I dont see why he doesnt do them more regularly. Steve Woods manages to put on 15-20 shows year with prospect v journeyman how come Frank with all his rescources cant even manage something similar?

 

Live tv costs maybe!

 

Steve Woods doesn't have to spend x amount of money filming the show for live TV, which is probably the biggest outgoing cost outside of fighter purses.

BoxNation has been great for fight fans to see international events but in terms of Frank as a promoter and for his fighters its been a nightmare.

April 20th is looking pretty stacked now.

 

I dont buy that live transmission of these shows is THAT expensive at the level that Frank does it at. Coldwell is able to films his live and put them on his app. Hatton filmed shows to go on youtube. For somebody who runs a TV channel why is this costing prohibitive amounts?

Gave up years ago on FW cards. Bought tickets for Millenium Stadium show when Calzaghe was headlining, Khan on the undercard, Haye vs Macca. Calzaghe fought Manfredo, Khan fought a bum, Haye vs Macca never happened and so on.

Cards would never fall through if they have depth so the disgrace that is put on is exposed right there and then.

Rarity - Cleverly vs BRahmer fell through but DeGale vs Groves kept the card alive because it was a legit fight. This should happen more often.

 

I have never watched Coldwell TV but I presume you have 1 camera angle, not as much analysis etc?

Chilemba vs Bellew was such a stinker that i doubt anyone in Liverpool had any appetite left for boxing. Frank resurrected boxing in Liverpool and that clown Hearn killed it.

I doubt only 3 tickets were actually sold but if they were pretty low then it's perfectly understandable why Frank had to cancel the show especially with the massive overheads involved in filming the event which probably would have mean't the event losing somewhere between £50,000 and £100,000 which hardly makes business sense. Not great for the boxers though but maybe they should have got off their asses and done some promoting themselves and ticket selling themselves.
