Eddie gave refunds around 80 i think. That's cos he's a good fella. Haters can't defend Frank on this one. **** poor from him.
You have a problem with anyone who praises Eddie, and you think that we all think he is the savior of boxing which we don`t,we just like the way he treats the fans ie engaging with the fans on twitter, refunds and i also think Matchroom are a very proffesional outfit unlike some other promotional companies. He is not perfect, like the other week he didn`t try to replace the Rees-Murrey fight at the Olympia which i went too but if i wanted a refund i would of got one and for Sky viewers he got the Kessler-magee for them,it was him not sky who purchased the rights for that.He should of had a better undercard for the froch fight and Brook-Saldavia was always a weak mainevent, but i think he will do some great things in 2013.
Even if you don't like Hearn, you've got admit that when you go to a Matchroom show or watch it on TV, you feel like you're at or watching a genuine, professional sporting event. Their production values are very good and everything is top notch from the layout to the lighting. FW's shows though are increasingly coming across as something you see at the county fair. Usually in small, dingey buildings with crap production values. Everything just looks cheap, miserable and 3rd rate (even if the fights themselves are good). You definitely get refunds for Matchroom shows if one of the main fights is pulled. FW though refuses to do this because he's just a greedy, selfish, money-grabbing *****. He's a bitter man who once thought he was king but now his knights and servants are leaving him behind.
I went to Machroom's December 8th show and thought it was poor. It's the worst show I've been to. Poor venue, crap atmosphere, empty seats and average fights. Surely the TV audience couldn't have been impressed.
Fair enough, not every show will be good but the majority are and are in good venues. FW's though are consistently **** and look like they're taking place in the back room of a pub.
Production of card, and schedule all night was far better then the FWP show i went to at Upton Park. No long breaks between fights and the fact the venue is a classy venue in itself was a smart move. A good competitive bill as well, The Camacho vs Miles fight was a absolute corker!. A real slugfest and Bryne vs Jones was a good fight as well. All done at short notice, the different being Eddie gave refunds and also put into his pocket to get replacements in of a decent standard for his guys.
How come Frank only seems to put on shows in London and Liverpool these days? There's the occasional one in Scotland, but that's about your lot.
Because they're the only cities that buy boxing that he can put a card on at the moment. Belfast, Nottingham and Sheffield are all Matchroom territory, as our Liverpool and London really. Just those cities are big enough for more than one promoter. I'm surprised there isn't more shows being put on in Manchester at the moment. Apart from Hatton's recent comeback, I can't remember the last time there was a big fight there in a while now.
