In their third fight Morales was having trouble making weight.Roach made him come down to 130 anyways. He was a corpse at the weigh in,Roach knew this. The Hoya fight everybody knew he hadn't made 147 for atleast 8 years.Roach knew he would be weight drained and used it to his advantage, again. But it was Hoya's fault for being stupid and he got what he deserved. You are right about the Cotto fight though, they haven't said nothing yet,but I wouldn't be surprised if Roach tryies to make him come down to 142 or something like that.
Again it was all roach and pac not say anything regarding the weight issue. Let's wait for what the man has to say before we give our opinions.
No one makes Oscar do anything. He's the golden boy for a reason. and people shouldn't be upset about catchweights. Besides, like people say, catchweights are MUTUALLY agreed upon. The intention is making a fight more about skill than size. Cotto weighed in at 146 but that's when he's dehydrated. He got healthy by fight night, probably at 155 or more. I don't like that system because it's manipulative. Pac weighed 148 1/2 fighting Dela Hoya. There's a numbers comparison for you 148 vs 155. I think this is just Roach getting back at that flawed sytem.
Who cares if it was Roach or Manny? The fact remains, it was said. Why are you people being critical of people criticizing something that came directly from Pacquiao's Camp?
LMAO @ people insinuating that Team Pacquiao 'made' DLH go to 147. The stupidity on this forum never ceases to amaze me.
I don't know lol. Am I being critical? I' m just saying that he hasn't said anything yet about the weight but many people are blabbering their mouths and blaming him for this catchweight brouhaha. Also we will justify it if ever pac announce that he wants a catchweight but right now he hasn't said anything and he hasn't fought at a catchweight LOL.
This is a stupid thread. His fight against DLH was at a catchweight. Doesn't matter if 147 is welterweight, both Pac and DLH didn't get the weight they wanted so they agreed to meet at a catchweight of 147. Doesn't matter though. Pacquiao is the kind of fighter that is good at any weight.
yeah. dlh was definitely in the driver's seat during negotiations for that fight. that's why he got a 68/32 split and the big lion's share of the PPV revenues. ppl also tend to forget that dlh already made 150 for the forbes fight which happened before the pac fight. ppl here probably wanted pac to jump up 3 weight classes from 135 and take on dlh at his natural weight class of 154 or 150 instead. hilarious since pac has never come into a fight even weighing 150, much less 154. and ppl here wanted him to weigh-in at those weights?! :-(
