How does Froch's chin stand up to G-man's straight rights? can he weather the early storm and take the fight late where G-man was weak?
No. Froch has a great chin, but he can be rocked and he was dropped by Taylor. G-Man was not only a monsterous puncher but he was fast too. Benn survived in part due to the awful ref in the 1st round and in part because he bobbed and weaved very low and threw fast, super heavy shots in return. Froch is fairly easy to hit and would be trying to stand with McLellan. That means he gets hit a lot, and nobody is standing there and soaking up flush bombs from McLellan.
You never know. G Man could punch but Froch is durable. Anything could happen and it wouldn't really suprise me but its one of those fights that had to happen.
McClellan way too fast for the Cobra.. Froch has a great chin but as someone said earlier taking flush shots (which Froch would) from G man is no no :-( McClellan TKO within 6 :deal
McClellan inside the distance, Benn said ''He snapped my neck ligaments back when he hit me, was like being hit with a pick axe''. I don't see Froch standing up to that power and McClellan's fundamentals. I think Gerald hated fighting guys who boxed off the back foot. May be wrong but i think his early losses he got really pissed off with it (chasing them to fight etc). May be wrong, don't hold me to it .
G-Man would take this, and I don't rate him half as much as most do, either as a boxer or as a puncher. But he'd blast Froch into oblivion here. Styles make fights and McClellan had the better chin and was the harder puncher.
I think G-Man is a very dangerous fight for everybody frankly. Froch will need to box and avoid getting into a tear up to stand a chance.
:deal I agree Froch was rocked by a good combination from Taylor but I don't think he was seriously hurt, but G-Man was a savage. Froch would ship alot more punishment then his usually opponants would but could not see him going more then 6 considering his usual style.
Personally I don't think Froch would "stand in front of him soaking up punishment" he's not a ****ing idiot. but meh
He's not an idiot but It's not hard to drag Froch into a war, he gets hit with a few shots and he lets his bollocks take over and will go toe to toe, great for the fans but not so much him.
So how will he evade G-Man? Because he's slower, throws less, is not the straighter puncher here and is less adept at fighting at anything other than his own range. McLellan will force the exchanges. This isn't Arthur Abraham. And it isn't Pascal either. I think Froch is the greater fighter and I hate G-Man. But The Cobra is outgunned here.
i'm just saying. I don't rule Froch out in this fight. I don't think Mckracken is going to watch the tape, know what Gerald is about and come up with nothing. but im not Mckracken, so i cant come up with the plan lol.
