B#####Scene is saying Campillo is injured and his fight Sept 21 on NBC Sports with Sergey Kovalev is off. The promoter is looking for a replacement.
It seemed the promoters tried to make a Kovalev-Chilemba fight since Erdei also pulled out of his fight with Chilemba. That would have been a nice save for one of the cards but it didin't work out. Now we get short notice opponents for 2 fights that were both going to be on tv. I don't expect great replacements to be found if any.
WTF? :fire WHY? That would have been awesome, maybe even better than the originally scheduled separate bouts.
The article said DiBella and Peltz tried to make a Chilemba-Kovalev fight but couldn't due to network obligations. Would have been nice to see that happen-we would have gotten a good fight and saved one of the television slots. Now we probably lose those two tv fights or get something not nearly on par with the original fights.
Have you? Boxrec isn't telling me much beyond the fact that he has a knack for ko-ing weak boxers. I'd've voted for Campillo purely based on the name. Campillo has to be one of the unluckiest boxers around at the moment. He's beaten Shumenov and Cloud, and still has no title, and no one knows of him -- and now he gets injured. Great.
Terrible news. I really like Campillo, and was looking forward to this fight as an opportunity for him to elevate himself back into the elite level fights he deserves, as he is easily in the Top Three at 175. I hope he's not out for long. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
Yes, a few times. Wow, you're ****ing ******ed. So it's a shame nobody knows a guy you like, but you turn around and dismiss out of hand someone you've never actually seen. Idiot. ****ing Boxrec. atsch
