Gabriel Campillo just got jobbed

I haven't seen the fight yet but I'm not surprised Patricia Morse-Jarman handed in a disgraceful score-card. I honestly don't think I've ever agreed with her scoring.

I can remember she had Vargas winning against Oscar and Shane (in their first fight) before he was stopped. Those are far from her worst moments but they were bad enough that I started to keep an eye on her.

Given this isn't a one-off, I would say she's horribly imcompetant rather than corrupt. Either way, she shouldn't be allowed to judge any more fights.

 

Campillo has probably been effectively moved out of the picture by his performance last night. No one is going to want fight a guy that good without the incentive of winning a title, but I'd love to see these matchups:

Dawson/Campillo

Shumenov/Pascal or Shumenov/Diaconu

 

He is a south paw....hopefully this gives him the boot in the ass to fight right.....or get the hell out.:good

 

i was completely blown away by last night's decision, but the funny thing is, i posted in kirk's fight prediction thread before the fight that i had a feeling even though shumenov was going to get beaten he would get the nod. for some reason i just had a feeling (i guess because so many people were pulling for shumenov) that he was going to get a victory regardless of the actual outcome of the fight.

 

I guess the best description for it is a pseudo make up call. Normally when a fighter loses a close fight the first time, he gets a few make up rounds in the sequel. Not that he doesn't/can't win the fight but there's just a natural sentiment to root for the guy who was "robbed". For instance MAB/EM 2, Floyd/JLC 2 and Corrales/Casamayor 2 are just some examples.

Watching it right now for the first time, I'm surprised anybody gave Shumenov more than 4 rounds.

Yup. I don't think he landed more than 1 jab in any round. It was a ****in joke.

 

I mean, punch stats say he did, but I sure as hell didn't see it.

 

I left the room to take a ****, missed the decision and couldn't believe my eyes when I read the verdict on the internet later. Campillo looked great. Shumenov needs to get rid of Kevin Barry and find a different trainer. Barry's plan almost got BS KOed.

 

There's a good article on this on the scene. Jarman should definitely be banned and there should definitely be an investigation. Roth f'ed up bad too. 115-113 for Shumenov. WTF was he watching?!?

 

Shumenov fought like a 10 year old on Fight Night who only knows how to throws haymakers.
