Forgot this was tonight! War Tapia!!!! War Rosado!!!! Sucks I don't want either to lose, it'll be a good fight though. Rosado should win but Tapia is game.
Honestly the winner and loser of tonight's main event should fight Spike & Nick Quigley, respectively. That'd make for a fun doubleheader. The winner of the former match would be ready for world title contention and the winner of the loser gets to stave off a steep fall down the pit of irrelevance.
Also, war Vargas on the undercard here tonight. I'm not sure if anyone else is familiar with Bekman Soylybayev, but he is easily the worst of the young Kazakh prospects to have recently invaded the US and set up shop here to kick-start their careers. Worst in terms of aesthetic style and worst in terms of being gifted with careful matchmaking to disguise how trash he is. Here are my previous impressions of him. He beats tomato cans ugly and showboats while doing it. Really can't stand the kid. Fernando Vargas isn't a terrific fighter but he's solid, just a tough and reasonably heavy-handed scrapper, and has paid his dues on the Mexican domestic scene, fought abroad with moderate success, and even challenged for a world title. As far as I'm concerned he is, while a journeyman, a huge step up in class for Soylybayev and the far more proven commodity, and I'm hoping that he exposes him with a savage thrashing.
Vargas also nearly always makes the contracted weight for his contests (and is a natural super bantam), whereas Soylybayev routinely misses it by more than a pound and in truth has fought seven of his eleven matches at lightweight despite being rated at super feather and holding a few trinkets at 130lbs (including the WBC International belt he defends tonight against Vargas). ¡¡¡Ándale México!!!!
