Now I am mad because you said I ran into the lifting thread. But as far as this thread goes. I'm not mad. I won. You are reduced to playing games and posting pics because you know that you were wrong. You stopped trying to argue your point pages ago. I'll say it again. Winter bulking isn't about calories. We are stronger and have more energy when we are fatter. Try and eat more food even feel free to binge a little. Let the intensity of your workouts determin how much you eat not some chart. Lose any excess weight in spring.

I'm not pissed off in the slightest, I'm bored and pissing you off because it's easy and pretty funny. You honestly think I care if you're right or wrong? The last statement you made "I'll say it again. Winter bulking isn't about calories. We are stronger and have more energy when we are fatter. Try and eat more food even feel free to binge a little. Let the intensity of your workouts determin how much you eat not some chart. Lose any excess weight in spring." I actually agree with to an extent. Are you still pissed off? I'll be so sad if you are...
umm didnt you just admit to getting fatter?? didnt the op specificly ask for GOOD weight?? Your arguing that havent more weight makes you stronger but thats obvious. Get a fat guy and a skinny guy and ofcourse the fat guy is stronger. Get a 100kg fat guy and a 100kg guy who's weight is mostly lean muscle who's stronger??
This is really good short straight to the point advice right here. Quick story... I was in the hospital for two months July 2009. Got down to 117 pounds. Almost died. I have been slowly gaining my weight back with a really good diet. I have been doing exactly what I quoted from viruss. I am at 140 pounds now in 2011 and need about 10 to 15 pounds to go. Some of my family kept trying to feed me ice cream, and cake, and pie, and **** like that. I refused. I made a commitment to diet and have been training every single day since I got out of the hospital. First workout was like 2 minutes long, lol. They thought I was crazy. But I am in the best shape of my life right now. Again, as viruss stated, take your time, and add weight slowly.
Why the hostility? I understand why you think the way you're thinking but you're making some jumps between things that aren't relevant. Did you know slow twitch fibres contain more intramuscular fat than fast twitch fibres? Why would that be if fast twitch fibres used for strength are so reliant on intramuscular fat like you claim? You're getting confused mate, I don't think you understand the complexity of different interactions either. Strength athletes have low levels of intramuscular fat, do you know why that is? It's not needed. I thought you had some knowledge in this area but I was obviously wrong, this is elementary stuff here. I always wondered why you said things like myofibrillar and sarcoplasmic hypertrophy (I thought that must've received your education in the 70s because those terms aren't used in text books or studies that I look at), I now realise you received your education off some meathead in a gym who is a self proclaimed expert.
They never sailed around it, genius. You're obviously not smart enough to realize I was simply mocking your comment. Hilarious thread still by the way because of how upset you're getting...5 vs 1 now by the way. Get the hint.
No one said anything about a lower calorie diet. The time of year has nothing to do with a caloric deficit vs. surplus, people just bulk in winter normally because wouldn't you rather be more cut up during the summer?
Get a healthy lifestyle, get a healthy diet and get in shape. Why do you need to worry about your weigh?
I used to be only 134lb and wanted to gain and what worked great for me was adding a gallon of whole milk a day to my diet. i gained around 4lbs in the first week alone and am now around 172lbs. as long as you do weight training around 3 times a week you should bulk up pretty well....also adding a gallon of milk is a hell of allot easier then adding more meals but still make sure what you are eating is healthy and not some fast food.
I have eaten 3 times as much fat than I ever have and am in better condition performance and composition wise than I have EVER been in the winter months. Paleo and Crossfit worked for me and as far as gaining "good weight" I don't even know what to say to that. Point is, burning less calories than you take in will lead to weight gain but the type of food and training you do will determine what kind of gains. Lots of heavy lifting, good eating habits and lots of rest and sleep.
