He admit's that he could have made an error but at the same time he denied all of the allegations that pose him as a hometown judge. He said Malignaggi has a good jab, though the lack of power in the jab played a role in his scoring of the fight.

“I never claimed to be perfect but I’m not a hometown judge. I’ve done 65 or so world title fights. I’ve done fights involving Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and Kostya Tszyu. I did a Paulie fight in Little Rock, an eight rounder and I gave Paulie six or seven rounds. He doesn’t remember or mention that,” Van Hoy said.

“I am not infallible but this is how I saw it. Maybe, in retrospect, I was wide in my score, maybe I was off by a round or two. Paulie’s got a good jab but it kept hitting Juan’s gloves. There was not enough power in those jab's.”

His description was essentially the way I saw the fight, but that doesn't excuse 10 rounds to 2.

so pretty much he didn't give Paulie any rounds because he doesn't have any power in his punches, that's bull****. I hope this guy loses his job and winds up bankrupt.

Boxing is not all about power if it was fighters like Willie Pep, Hector Camacho, and Pernell Whitaker would never have a chance to win if Gale Van Hoy was judging a fight. This guy is corrupt and needs to be fired.

Glad to see this peace of **** reads the internet, hopefully he reads this one too.

There's no talking out of this one Mr. Van Hoy, you are either a corrupt peace of **** or simply incompetent and unqualified for your job, either way, you should quit judging professional fights for money. You can still do it in front of your TV and everybody's happy. :happy

so obviously he went into the fight with the idea that Paulie can't punch hard so his punches don't score......but Diaz isn't a big puncher either, so I don't get this....Paulie didn't look once bothered by Juan's "power"

I thought that Paulie won the fight, but its not flawed or even really questionable to have scored the fight for Juan. But and its a huge BUT giving Juan 10 rounds scream corruption. This guy once again has a history of scoring fights these way, I gave a few example of his out of the box scoring on a post the other day. These crap needs to stop, Im not sure how eles to do other then holding these corrupt judges accountable for thier scoring and making them answer to them, maybe even suspentions should be in order, problem is its very hard if not impossible to prove. In this case its pretty clear that he favored Juan, and once again the guy has a pattern.

There is a difference between being corrupt and being biased. Van Hoy is biased.

I think that the solution would be that judges must be selected the same as jurors. Both camps have to agree to the judges.

What a fu***ng joke..... the guy even has the guts to try to defend his scoring of the fight. The least he could do is apologize or STAY QUIET, in other words, STFU!!!

So because paulie lacks something he can't control like power he can't get any rounds.
