A jab is not supposed to KO an opponent, but if by divine providence, it does, then that is an added bonus. It is supposed to set-up your bigger arsenal as well as to establish a rhytm, or disrupt an opponents rhythm. Thus, it would enevr look like it would snap the opponents head, but definitely, the accumulation of those jabs would cut or welt your face.

There are some boxers who have heavy hands that their jabs are like being hit by a leaded hand, but those are rare breeds. Most of the fighters have what malignaggi have, and many fighters do not even have effective jabs.

The question that the judge should have asked in making a decision whether that jab is significant is whether Malig was able to impose his rhythm or disrupt Diaz' rhythm to render Diaz ineffective. I think that is easily answered.

The judge simply does not know how to judge.

Who cares if Paulie has no power? He boxed Diaz's ears off. It's not about power, it's about skills in my view, and Paulie should have won that fight.

gale van hoy is a disgrace to boxing.. i don't know why he's even called a professional boxing judge, 118-112 is an impossible score no matter how you look at it. even regular boxing fans didnt score it that way. he's a shame to boxing, he should be suspended or be banned from boxing. the three judges should be banned from boxing. PAULIE clearly won the fight, the worst that could've happen for paulie is a DRAW.

Corrupt judges are not corrupt in every fight - then they would quickly get found out.

Corrupt judges usually work their way to get the big fights by being rather objective. Perhaps a few 'money fights' along the way, but far the majority will be straightly judged. Then when the big fight is there and their card is worth a lot to the promoters/fighters/gamblers they cash in big time!

Then afterwards they point to all the hard work they put in (they do not mention of course, that it was in order to get access to the big fight and the big money for their card).

    No it doesn't.

Well then, its you and Van Hoy that had the wide gap on their scorecards......congrats:lol:

I had it a draw, Pualie could have lost by a round or two or conversly won by that margin but you two must be smoking good **** to see a lopsided win by Diaz.

I actually disagree with this - I think anyone with a controversial, out of whack card, should be made to give a round by round justification of their score. This should form a public record of embarrassment for him/her and a public record upon which to base suspensions/basis to not be used again.

His comments are at least a weak step in that direction. I think he's full of **** (a scoring jab is a scoring jab), but even taking token accountability is a step in the right direction to me.

Diaz does not have power. Judge should be suspended.

Yeah . . . unfortunately more people who saw and scored the fight . . . scored it very close to the other 2 judges' official scorecards which are more real. 116 - 114 and 115 -113. 118 - 110 is very far from reality. :deal

Bingo. Guerrero put on a boxing lesson to Klassen in most rounds, that was boxing, that was circling, ring generalship, and effective aggression. That was jabbing and setting up right hands.

Paulie circled, and missed jabs. That's it. That's not boxing, that's running and jabbing.

Watch the Guerrero fight, then watch the Paulie fight.

Bull****. He should be banned no excuse for a 118-110 card.
