Article briefly references some of Galento's complaints about Floyd Patterson and the fighters of the 70s.

Not that Galento himself was known for his graciousness, referring to Floyd Patterson in January 1963 as a “stiff I would knock out with one punch” and wondering in 1977, “Where did they dig these guys up? What happened to fighters with class, like Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, or my old friend, Rocky Graziano? The fighters today are a bunch of cream puffs. Why, Jimmy Young—he’s a big joke.”

'Two ton' was always a whiner. Patterson was never prone to a left hook; he would have had Tony on the floor multiple times before the nonsense was stopped and Young would have made him look like an amateur.

That fat two ton hotdog vacuum who was in auto-mode for not beeing in shape, loafing his jelly around the ring throwing hooks with run-up until that mass inertia was moving, is LUCKY AS HELL HE`D NEVER FIGHT IN AN ERA WITH Jimmy Young, Sonny Liston, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Ernie Shavers, Ron Lyle or Muhammad Ali!

I LOL'd when he called Patterson "a stiff I would knock out with one punch"

I wonder what he would have said about Lennox Lewis and the K2 brothers?

jowcol, if I really tried, I wouldn't have been able to say it any better. I'll just say both Floyd and Jimmy would have totally embarrassed the fat man. The "noive" of this spaghetti sucking jerk,...knocking two of my personal favorites.

Galento did actually predict that Clay would beat Liston, before their first encounter.

It seems to have been his manic confidence that led him to this conclusion more than anything else.

He said that he saw a bit of himself in him!

A retired Dempsey climbed into the ring with "active fighter" Galento in training camp and put a bad whuppin' on Two-Ton.

Tony wouldn't have had an idea as to how to hit Jimmy Young...and Patterson would have stopped him within 5 rounds. Maybe he would have decked Floyd, but more likely, Galento would have been buried under a ton of blurred leather...torn to pieces and decked multiple times before the end.
