Yeah, it's a 50-50 fight. It boils down to whether Galento's slick upper body movement and neat footwork gets him enough angles to capitalize a way past Bonavena's tight defense and cobra-like counter-punching game plan. A fight for the purists. Two exquisite technicians.
Bonavena would have outpointed him easily...much easier than he did Chuvalo...and Oscar was stronger than Tony as well as having better mobility. Just watch the Chuvalo fight...and I know that Galento and Chuvalo didn't fight alike....that's not important.
Bonavena was better than Galento in almost every department, and Tony won't even be able to out foul him.
