Galento was the way more accomplised fighter. Of course no one really hurts Tex even a murderous puncher like "Two Ton" Tony. But he would win a lopsided decision against Tex. Cobb could not punch very hard and had a very limited offensive arsenal.
When you see two people like this going at it, it must be time for bed. All jokes aside, I do think Cobb was a bit tougher, had better conditong, and was more game. Cobb only looked less skilled because he fought better skilled fighters for the most part. I read some of Glaento's stuff. It appears he was in some fixed fights, had some issues with cuts, and no mas type quit jobs. I will go with Cobb via decision or late round TKO.
The press conference may be even more exciting than the fight itself. In a case of punch v chin, chin usually wins. I'll go against the grain and pick the less 'skilled' Cobb.
Galento would take this decision rather handily. Of course he couldn't hurt Tex, but his hook was a far better weapon than any punch Cobb had in his offensive arsenal. Tony proved with Nova that he could go late into the championship rounds to finish an opponent off. He would not tire out against Tex. The fans would definitely come away happy with this one though!
I think Galento's poor conditioning may come into play if this fight enters the late rounds. If this is a 12 round fight, I think Tex could stop him late due to Galento running out of gas.
Tex Cobb was a decent kickboxer. If this descends into a foul-fest I could see him roundhouse kicking Galento into oblivion.
Yeah, Cobb did everything from boxing, Kickboxing and playing college football. He also grew up in a very rough part of Bridge city, Texas and hung around with a tougher crowd. He was also into the whole biker thing. Cobb would have messed up a lot of people in a streetfight ( in fact, he probably did. )
