I made a lot of bets today on ufc and boxing

the biggest potential winner is 30 dollars on Marquez to beat Floyd by KO at 9 to 1 (pays 270 bucks) which probably will not happen but I couldn't resist the odds.
Marquez is a lightweight 135 pounds, he fought his career at 126 pounds for most of it, Floyd fights at 147 pounds albeit a bit small for the weight, he fought much of his career at 130 / 135 but he is the bigger man.

the contracted weight for the fight was actually 144, but at the last minute floyd changed it to 147 and weighed in at 146, where as marquez weighed in at 142

so not only did marquez get screwed by having to move up, he had to come in small on top of that!

everything is against marquez! he is almost 37 years old too.

size weight reach defense skill all for floyd strength everything

however mayweather has been out two years
mayweather doesn't like to get hit
mayweather took this fight because he is broke
mayweather likely retired and missed out on a huge second payday vs de la hoya because of two things
    1)he is afraid of losing
2)his hands are much worse off than they let on
    he has very brittle hands

i am counting on a lot of factors to play out here

chances are marquez is the one who gets knocked out however

at 9 to 1 by KO and to have a fighter like Marquez in my corner i had to go for it

plus mayweather is such an ass

also mayweather hasn't dealt with a fighter on this level in a long time

that is really key and out of anything that is my one hope as a factor well that and his hands

i mean maybe marquez brings something mayweather isn't used to or at least not used to since what? castillo a zillion years ago in another lifetime

    i can dream can't i?

i like taking chances like this Marquez at 9 to 1 when he has been fighting more offensively what the hell why not

wow Kessler at -260. I'm feeling like Kessler will easily defeat Ward. I probably need to go and get some understanding of why Ward isn't -400 at the very least.

I'm wondering if its race, nationality and hype along with his great credentials and skill set combined with Kessler's L vs Joe and no major fight since to erase it and Kessler's humility and lack of exposure in the states accept for the big L vs Joe.

Kess has so many more big fights under his belt than Andre who was hurt in two fights vs really low level guys or at least one fight.

I feel like Kessler is a much more known commodity than Ward. If Ward had knocked off a few more higher level pros first, than I can see the -260, but at this point that seems too close.

Judging from what I have been reading
    This content is protected
across various forums Kessler has apparently accomplished next to nothing and Ward is the heir apparent, and I dont' want to have that argument here as much as I want to state that these types of perceptions which I see inundating many threads are definitely affecting the odds, in my opinion.

    And I like that.

Cotto vs Pac I am actually starting to lean back toward Pac.

'm starting to lean towards Pacman, for a long time I favored Cotto slightly. Still don't know if I will bet. Judah was hurting Cotto early with his speed before Cotto backed him off with two hard low blows. Pacman has knocked down Shawn Porter twice in sparring, a young undefeated boxer who is a widely touted prospect at 154 / 160 with a few hundred amateur fights and something like 130 by KO I am told. This guy is bigger than Cotto physically.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Cotto has very low level sparring partners and the one guy who is somewhat decent, Frankie Figueroa who beat an old Emmanuel Augustus (barely) and then got brutally knocked out by a very shopworn Randall Bailey, got thrown out of the sparring camp. Figueroa's side is that he was only mimicking pacs moves and it frustrated Cotto who couldn't catch him. If Cotto was so pissed he would have knocked his ass out for being a bull**** sparring partner, which is what Cotto said, instead of kicking him out of camp. First you KO them, then you throw them out. But Cotto didn't do it. And Frank has sparred with something like half a dozen top high profile fighters so he is considered excellent sparring.

Roach has just bet 1,000 on a first round KO of Pac. Roach predicted Hatton KO early, DLH stoppage late, Morales KO in second fight as well. Roach is seeing serious power and same speed with Pac.

Cotto has to come in at 145. Every fight he is older and that gets harder. He was 146 vs Clottey so it shouldn't mean much but it can help him the 12th thru 15th pounds he gains from meaning as much.

Roach / Pac camp seems to be turning out well despite all the distractions: Roach vs the money controlling leech named Koncz who is a friend of Arum and weasels his way into Pac's life, training in the Phillipines with storms and Manny's celebrity status, having to move camp due to storm

Cotto by many accounts seems "not to be quite there yet" even Bob Arum states Cotto is "improving"

Cotto thru Frankie Figueroa in frustration in front of Arum, according to Frankie.

ON the other hand, Pac needs to win this fight easily, it can't be a close grinding war in my opinion. Pac is too ****ing small. PAC HAS NEVER BEEN HIT FLUSH ABOVE 130 POUNDS.
David Diaz at 135: He never even saw Pac let alone hit him. A brutal one sided beating in which Diaz said afterwards that he thought Roach was in there hitting him along with Pac.
Oscar: "Death by a thousand left hands" according to Larry Merchant. Oscar couldn't find Pac.
Hatton: Over before it even got going. Only found Pac with some holding and hitting rabbit punches.

Last guy to hit Pac was Marquez at 130. Those fights were wars as were the fights with Morales even the ones were pac dominated.

I just don't think Pac who will likely be around 149ish on fightnight vs Cotto who will likely be around 158 on fight night, can deal with a grinding war with a natural bigger and stonger guy like Cotto, who has the ability to take you out with one shot, like he did vs Quintana and Gomez. Cotto at 140 was weak, but at 145 + 13 pounds or so on fight night, I expect him to be strong as hell.

Therefore, for Pac to win, he is going to have to go at Cotto and fight inside, be first and last and not take any big body shots.

That just might be enough though. Look for LOW BLOWS and THROWING from Cotto if things aren't going his way.

I expect Cotto to come out and fight tentativily and defensively at first. HE needs to keep his distance because if Pac gets inside he will fire off combos that Cotto won't be able to keep up with.

Cotto will probably want to try and catch him coming in rather than go after him too much, because that is where he can get hurt in my opinion, on the other hand, like someone said on the forums, if this midget is chasing the much larger Cotto around the ring how in the hell are they going to score the fight for Cotto? And Cotto has a strong tendency to fade in fights, where as Pac does not.

I still don't know but I am now leaning towards Pac despite the massive natural size difference. But Pac is too big a favorite right now for me to bet and I got to watch 24 / 7

    just watched the first one

these upcoming episodes are going to help tell us how messed up roach's camp is and if roach is throwing all these statements out there to put a band aid over a horrible situation

giant had a lethargic performance vs an ancient holyfield but hopefully he was tentative in that one and the hate for Haye and his antics will inspire him. we still don't know if haye is a real heavy and now here he is going against a guy who couldn't even make super heavy division if they had one. i like valuev even as a dog so when you take that into consideration my bet is very conservative

monte barret likes valuev to win and he has faced both of them but he may simply be more sore at haye since that loss is fresher in his mind and at one point it looked as if he may pull the upset there

roach likes haye and is adamant about it

in my opinion, if one of these two gets knocked out the fans win either way

barrett tapped haye and i think valuev will be doing it in spades

I originally thought, along with eighty percent of the showtime audience, that Johnson deserved the victory, however a careful rewatching put Chad ahead on the cards, but Johnson clearly won the moral victory here. This is important because its possible that in a close one it goes the other way this time to make up for past sins, even though, ironically, I now believe it was the right decision. What we can't argue with is that Chad was clearly hurt by Johnson, and that Tarver did better the second time around vs Chad. Maybe Johnson will too and maybe that means Glen gets a KO. In a shaky fight like this I definitely was seduced by the great odds somewhat although I also want Johnson to win.

crap odds and I never actually watched the first one, but I read graham houston's fight report and he likes sexton, but based on everything he said, i like rogan, who has faced superior competition and was winning the first one accept that he backed off when he could have finished the fight apparently.
