Could be a very, very tough man to beat.

Going off of tonight's performance, I think his people are realizing this. :smoke

His division is for the taking. No real standouts other than John. I would hope that he hasnt showed us his real style yet. All of his matchup's so far, he looks like hes just playing around. Hopfully when he steps up to fight a good opponent. he will step up his game and put his hands up lol

They should look for Luevano, he looked pretty lousy against the terrible Billy Dibb. Gamboa could turn it into a fight and do some damage.

Gamboa would spank Luevano. No power and he's not going to outslick Yuri either.

I want to see the Juarez - John II winner fight Gamboa.

Then the winner of that gets JuanMa.

He is not a pure counter puncher. He merely employed the fight plan for tonight. He was fighting a taller guy with a big reach advantage . . . so he played counter puncher on this fight.

You're right, by nature he's not one.

His skill set begs for it though. He can duck under, around and past almost any punch he sees coming, and he has the handspeed to beat almost anyone to the punch.

It's when he starts trying to lead with power shots at 5'5 that he puts himself in the most danger, by far. I wish he'd quit that sh*t permanently.

if gamboa stays on the outside (like he did with darling during the mid-late rounds) he is unbeatable. His mindset however, is bombs away.

For me, he simply has to become a counter puncher from the outside. Because he's too small to take the initiate from the outside, and his defence and chin isn't good enough to brawl away on the inside.

    I agree.

I also like that for the most part with Rojas, he only went into whirlwind mode after he'd caught him with a clean counter. I mean seriously, if he can go tit for tat with someone on the outside for 2:40, then go all "Ciclon" for :20, there aren't many judges who won't give him the round.

He's starting to think and act more like a pro. Last night was a big step forward.

Juanma would spark him, and John and Juarez would stop him late,....but his style might cause Luevano problems, i think he might be able to win*

He would box circles around Juarez. Rocky wins this fight if it's in Houston and they take points away from Yuri for using his right hand.
