Finally Barros catches Gamboa rushing in with a couple of good hooks. But Gamboa is dominating with ring movement and handspeed, but really this isn't a great performance by his standards and Barros offers not much at all and stays static. I'm starting to sense Gamboa is just happy to finish this whenever he really wants to turn up the heat.

    Round 4 Gamboa 10-9

Rd 4 - Gamboa is such a natural in the ring, very relaxed. Upper body movement, head movement, hands down out of range but back up when closer. The pick of the action was probably his bodywork in this round. His timing to the head is a little off I feel. No signs Barros is wilting but he's simply not doing anything.

    4-0 Gamboa

Rd 5 - This was the first round Barros was truely competetive in. He let some punches fly at last. Gamboa seems happy to get the rounds in, he's not overly taxing himself to get this dude out of there. Maybe as Barros gets more ambitious he'll get his chance.

    5-0 Gamboa

Round 5 - Barros lands another couple of decent shots and is starting to gain a bit more confidence, it's evident that both fighters timing and accuracy this fight is totally off. Gamboa is winning on a more evident work-rate, but Barros is gaining confidence and trying to time Gamboa coming in. Like I said it's gonna go a few.

    Gamboa 10-9 (could be even)

Rd 6 - Almost a sparring session tempo to this fight. Not vintage Gamboa, certainly. The main difference is he is firing mostly single shots instead of his usual barrage. He did enough with his movement and potshotting in this round to win comfortably. No signs Barros is going anywhere.

    6-0 Gamboa

    Round 6

First 2 and a half minutes consisted of.. Gamboa posing - Barros looking gormless missing a swing or two, Gamboa with a little combination, then hit the back of Barros's head. Then Gamboa steals the mediocre round with a combination towards the end.

Gamboa needs to stop the showboating.

    Gamboa 10 -9

Sounds like the kind of fight the germans love.

Round 7 BARROS WINS A ROUND SHOCKER! - Gamboa getting lazy and letting Barros get inside where he manages to hit Gamboa with some fairly decent hooks, Gamboa seems lazy and unmotivated almost like he doesn't care, and Barros almost hits him with a few hail mary's hayemakers, and Gamboa tries to showboat again and almost got hit by some hooks.

    Barros 10- 9

Rd 7 - Gamboa might have won this on defence alone. Lovely head movement. Barros making a more concerted effort to put on some pressure now. Unfortuntely Gamboa's head movement thwarts all his attacks and makes him look foolish. Gamboa outboxed him the last 2 mins of the round after a promising start by Barros. Barros complained a few times about being hit on the back of the head

    7-0 Gamboa

Beautiful shot by Gamboa brings Barros down, Gamboa goes in for the kill, Barros covers up and holds on for dear life and then fights back well towards the end of the round, and even caught Gamboa. A fight has finally broken out.

    Gamboa 10-8

Rd 8 - Finally a great round! Gamboa knocked him down early with a flurry. He flurried him to death for this round, Barros was struggling to survive on the ropes. But he did. And then he caught Gamboa with a big shot and Gamboa looks dazed, he grabs on!! Round end comes at the right time for Gamboa, incredible considering the start to the round. Still a 10-8 Gamboa mind.

    8-0 Gamboa
