Looked to me as if Gambao hadn't prepared for this fight. He didn't look too good. Ah well, he got UD, I can't imagine him being robbed here.

Rd 12 - Fair play to Gamboa. He could have rode this one out but he just traded. He seemed to lose punching form in his tiredness but he stunned Barros briefly. Very good heart shown by Gamboa to battle hard when he didn't need to there, dangerous but it paid off. Barros comes out with credit, but will regret not doing more earlier. First half of the fight was a sparring session but it really warmed up quite nicely, a slow burner.

9-3 Gamboa with one 10-8 round. Do the math I can't be assed.

Well done Barros he gave Gamboa some problems and some respect he'll probably be a good gatekeeper for the future.
Solid Chin, and very good heart and his boxing isn't that bad either.
Gamboa needs to go back to the table and stop the showboating, but the expierence of 12 rounds where he didn't have things all his own way will bode well for the future.
Luckily he wasn't in with JML otherwise I fear for Gamboa if he fights again like that. He has to stop fighting with his hands down as well.

Looked like there was going to be a fracas after the bell but they came to sense and embraced.

Yeah but Juanma had a fight just like that against Mtagwa where he struggled at the end badly. A whole lot worse than Gamboa did tonight.

What does the future hold for the opponent? Surely this fight will benefit him as well?

He looked okay to be honest. Defended himself quite well and took the shots well. Kinda 'Steady Eddie' type that puts on some pressure. He will have regrets about letting Gamboa getting such a comfortable start because he had him in deeper waters late.

You're a good analyst of a fighter, sound for that :good

as I've been away, how do you see all of tonights big fights going?

Guzman showing himself to be a tosser again. Kerry Kayes-Amazing conditioner  did they think no one would notice. Funeka UD I reckon, the extra weight will only make Guzman less mobile and slow like he was in the first fight, he hasn't generated any real power since 122.

Gamboa is an amazingly talented fighter, he just looked **** tonight, and I did think Gamboa looked like he wanted to go the distance - afew times he eased back when he had his man hurt
