I think is a real danger here, Salido is a Beltholder going into his most important fight, he will not just lay down for Gamboa and he can punch.
Thanks for pointing that out for me, I did'nt know that Rodriguez and Ramos were unified Champions! Yes you are right, Gamboa will be the first Cuban to win an IBF World Title...
I read the article, I just hate it when they keep saying that Gamboa went down against Marcos Ramirez when it was a clear elbow to the jaw!! Man, I can't stand that...:-(
It was certainly not a legit shot but it doesn't change the fact that Gamboa didn't have his hands up. It could've been a legit KD as well the way Yuri was open. The most hurt I've ever seen Gamboa however was in his last fight vs. Barros. He was buzzed pretty good and took a few long seconds to recover. With the higher calibre of opponents and experience he must tighten up that defense and come up with controlled aggression.
Yeah, but it was not a real knockdown! Being hit by an elbow is not legal, Yuriorkis just placed a glove in the floor and kept following Ramirez to continue his assault. You can't say that it would had been a knockdown because he did'nt have his hands up, the " if's " does'nt count... In the later rounds, Barros indeed hit Gamboa with a hard straight hand and Gamboa felt it, his legs were ok and he took it pretty good. I think that Gamboa has a better chin than what people think...:good
I think Salido might be able to land a couple of shot before he gets taken out around the 8th. I just wanna see how Gamboa looks taking the shots.
Gamboa's not as reckless as he used to be he's more defensively sound and takes his time. He's doing great so it's not if Gamboa's going to win it's how. How durable is this Salido?
Btw the scene reported Salido is overweight on top of it all and will probably lose his belt before the fight tonight. Just more reason for me to think why I already do. Just wait. I don't think my original comment will be too far from what unfolds tonight.
