for those of you in Miami, TV41 had Gamboa on in their
"Pellízcame que Estoy Soñando" (see http://www.americateve.com/ ), and they had him on as a guest.

He showed off his hand, all swollen up...I mean REALLY swollen, like it was broken. During the interview, he said he injured it 3 days before the fight, but it was too late to get out, and didn't want the other team to know about it, so he fought on. He said he injured it more during the fight.

Anyways, thought it was pretty interesting. I don't know if he is BSing about injuring it before or during the fight, but either way, his hand was definitely messed up.

That's very bad news. Although some confirmation info/source and/or a photo would be nice.

No excuses for this guy ... he shouldn't have had his hands down and it shouldn't be a factor for him getting knocked down. Maybe an excuse that he didn't get the KO, but if he went to the body more - he probably wouldve got him out of there.

A good ass kicking is going to make Gamboa a better fighter. He needs to be humbled before it's too late for him to realize that he's not Roy Jones Jr.

Maybe, if this is true, it could have some bearing on why his trainer was fired. With this guys potential, not to mention potential $$$$ he is looking to make, isn't it quite unwise to go into a fight injured and possibly make the injury beyond all repair??

I don't know about his hand being injured but that cockyness is what got his ass dropped. Darling Jimenez was landing some good shots as he was firing back in those exchanges.

75% of fighters fight injured. Calzaghe, Mayweather, Malignaggi, Haye all break there hands in almost every fight or in training.

At the same time, fighter do postpone fights due to hand injuries as well. I guess it's a matter of the severity of the injury. Gamboa didn't look like he was fighting with a busted right hand or like he hurt it more during the fight.
Maybe he's just that tough, he exhibits no pain or discomfort.

You got the translation all wrong, feller; what Yurirocky Bamboa really said was that he fought with a really bad attitude problem on Saturday night.

On TV41, he showed a picture of his attitude, all morally corroded...I mean, REALLY corroded - like he was a 250 lbs Elvis.

During the interview, Yurirocky said he had developed the attitude problem during the last couple of months, but it was too late to change now; he was irremediably ****ed.
