WHat did you guys think about Solis comment that Gamboa definitely hits harder than PAC? I mean hes the only that would know ,since he fought both men.
And in 5 years time solis gets ktfo again, he will say (insert boxer here) punches harder than gamboa nor pacquiao.
I dont see why he would just make that up,, U can tell hes giving his honest opinion by how quick he anwered and said Gamboa hits way harder,... He was not taking anything way from Pac., as he said that Pac just throws punches from everywhere.. Are such ******* that you have to doubt the man who fought both of them? It was obvious that he felt Gamboas power more by just watching the fight.
Gamboa is a big big puncher, Pacquaio is a big puncher but more about speed than power to a degree, there isn't as much weight behind the shots.
I guess he would know...but the fights did play out much differently. That was the less polished Pac who took a little while to overcome Solis' awkward style..once he actually started landing real solid shots the fight was basically over. Gamboa is physically and technically in his prime right now...he was when he turned pro. I think Yurk is "better" at landing his hardest shots than Manny was at that stage. No doubt Gamboa hits very hard..His toweling of the usually durable Mtagwa was evidence enough for me.
I was referring to Solis' punch resistance. As if Solis fought Pac last year and then fought gamboa this week. As Solis gets older, and as he fights more often, his punch resistance is reduced. read again.
Maybe his chin isnt the same , but the way he answered it sounded to convincing.. U stil recognize the difference when taking the punches.. My guess is that Solis was thinking shiiiiit ive never been hit like this before, a fighter still nows even he is on the slide.
Gamboa hits harder. I'll take Solis' word for it. I'm not gonna go through a pile of stats but I have a pretty strong feeling Gamboa, at the age of 26 (point when he started his pro career), has more KO's than Pac's 20 fight stretch starting at the point when he was 26. I don't think Manny cares though. I wouldn't either. I'd rather be P4P king than a punch out king. Pac fans don't need to be so defensive. Pac isn't better than everyone in every single category. Shavers was a bigger puncher than Ali. Big deal.
I'm not sure if he hits harder than pac did at featherweight but if he doesn't he's not far off. His punching last night was great, every time he hit solis he was hurting him. That 3rd knockdown with the short left sort of hook/jab punch was an absolute gem.
i remember pac was taking it easy against solis until he got cut in the seventh round. pac also didn't train for that fight
