This fight better not fall through thanks to more Top Rank bull****. It was easily my most anticipated fight of the year. The most exciting fighter today vs the quickest rising fighter today. What could go wrong? Bob Arum.

i seem to recall gamboa's ppl releasing a statement on fightnews...or one of the sites saying the contract wasn't signed and they hadn't agreed on it prior to the press conference. i'll have to dig to see if i can find it. i'm a huge boxing fan...don't get me wrong. but i cannot behave like a scorned woman because he chose not to participate in a press conference. he is his own man. him not showing up wasn't a surprise to me because i remembered reading that. of course...i have a life so i don't spend my hard earned cash...or get blisters on my feet walking to some press conference i can catch on the internet. but, to each his own.

agreeing to terms and signing an actual contract are two totally different things. one is binding...one isn't.

no, i'm using my recollection of the situation with kelly pavlik where he pulled out of a fight that he did not know he was only getting paid 50k for just a week before it was supposed to happen. go back and look up those articles because in them he explains how toprank does business. he trusted them....they betrayed his trust by giving him a bull**** contract. he never signed it...so he pulled out. clearly....top rank...or any promoter for that matter cannot have the best interest of all of its' fighters all the time. sometimes the fighter has to protect himself and his career. there aren't very many opportunities to get it right. if toprank fails gamboa...he loses out on the potential to make millions. toprank moves on to the next fighter and still makes money.
