I made the Meldrick Taylor/Gamboa comparisson in body style and look.
defo not in ability. Tho they both come from very sucessfull amature backgrounds/pedegree.

you can't fight the fact that they resemble eachother in body type and speed.

Again, Gamboa's had ten fights. I dunno if I've even watched Meldrick fight when he only had 10 fights, so I can't yet make the comparison. I don't see Gamboa fighting someone on the level of McGirt in their 20th fight; but this dude IS calling out Pac and guys of that quality. So you never know.

And Gamboa's first knockdown wasn't really a knockdown (from a clean punch anyway), I remember it being a push. But correct if I'm wrong.

I won't over-rate him, and agree with you that he is not, yet. Does that mean he can't have as good, if not better, a career? Only time will tell.

Will people PLEASE stop saying "he has been down twice already". It just shows that you are looking at boxrec and have not watched the fight in question.

Anyone who has seen the De Jesus fight (which should be anyone remotely interested in him as it is on Youtube) will say it was not a KD.

He has been down once and it was in his last fight, a good shot, but a flash KD.
Mohammed Ali was floored in his 11th fight as a pro, but he ended up having a fairly good career did he not?

Well **** if Sonny Banks could drop a young clay, then he would have no chance against Liston, Frazier, Foreman or Shavers would he? Not how boxing works.

Gamboa is too easy to hit and I said that from the moment I watched some of the videos Amsterdam was posting. He is getting hit flush by journeymen because he is so aggressive and so open and cocky...although at 26 it is unlikely to change vastly, he can work on these things and adapt to the pro game.

But a flash KD from a temple shot does not raise some huge concern over his chin.

Thank you for confirming my memory.

The first KD was not a KD. To say he's been down twice means you at least haven't seen THAT fight. Perhaps only the one last Saturday night? :conf

...for the record ...ys they are two KD, and the last one was no flash KD he was hurt fortunately good for him he was not finished....I don;lt buy the hippe around Gamboa...Meldrick Taylor came to the pros with all the toos to be succesful, the style that Meldrick choose to use was becuase his Philly background and not because he was a deficient defensive fighter....Gamboa need to adjust to fighting in the pros, if he doesn;t he will be KO preatty horrificably...lets remeber that Meldrick was voted by his tema members onf the US Boxing team the most talented of the group!!!

Gamboa better take one step at a time and go back to the drawing table hsi trainer siad absolutely nothing about his hands so low all thru the fight...that let me to beleive that perhaps theya r not going to address that particular deficiency on him...

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

You are so full of ****. It was NOT a KD in anyones mind other than the dumb ref and you, one of ESBs most bias posters.

And sorry but the last one was a flash KD. Do you know what flash knockdown means?
It means he was up almost the moment he went down, well watch this and count how many seconds Gamboa was down for...

    [YT]DLDlyxXc89A[/YT]

Yeah from touching down to standing up, I got to a count of 1...at a push the word "two" might be coming out of your mouth. He then stood there shrugging while the ref did a count and went straight back on the attack, and won the rest of the round.

What the **** fight were you watching?

What a surprise, so once again it comes down to you getting your panties in a bunch because someone might just might steal some limelight from a PR fighter.
Jesus I am one of Cottos biggest fans, but it is fans like you that almost make me want to see them lose just so you would shut up slagging off everyone else who is not from PR.
