We are talkin different fights..I am talking about the De Jesus fight and you are talking satu's fight!!!
then the point of orishaman its that there is a boricua out there better than gamboa because the guy is undefeated in more fights than gamboa...ok,then gamboa isnt taylor because is already 26 and his defense is crappy...ok,the he got KO twice in 10 fights(even if everybody agree the first one wasnt a KO and he was never hurt on the second KO)..ok let orisha believe his boricua is better than my cuban, time will say by the way..how many times was tito KO on his career?
So do I...and all you guys are ready to hand him the belt..please...he got pounded by left hooks, and if you look the DeJesus fight as you said you did , you will notice that a left hook initiate the problems before the real KD...cool
\\\nope all I am saying is that he is no Meldrick Taylor and he DID got KD twice..wathc the video fool...in boxing age is everything..Martinez is younger and has more pro fights that Gamboa...
do you remember how easily cotto got rocked and went down against weaker rivals?torres?chop-chop?.. and today he is among 3 p4p..he made adjustments and finally after enough fights he made it to the top.
No. Gamboa came in with a wide left hook. His opponent caught him by surprise with a right hook that hit him flush. That punch clearly stunned Gamboa. If you watch closely, you'll see Gamboa attempt to wrap his left arm around his opponent's neck to keep from going down from that punch. That was a legit KD.
you talked about both fights in your post, and then i responded talking about both fights in mine! Do you even realise what you write? And did you even read my reply? How are we talking about different fights
No, it was a pushdown/slip, De Jesus landed a right hand that Gamboa took well, then Gamboa throws a left hook at De Jesus, De Jesus ducks under the left hook, the 2 fighters get tangled up, and Gamboa falls over after being pushed down. That was not a knock down.
The De Jesus fight was not a real KD, and he didn't have any real problems in the fight, he got tagged a fair bit, but then he has been caught way too much by journeymen due to his all out attack and open style. I am not handing him any belt, I am saying he is a very very exciting boxer with huge natural gifts that needs to change a few things... 1. Keep his hands up more. 2. Sit down on certain shots more rather than going for volume attacks as it is during these attacks that he is most open to the counter puncher and he does have power but is not utilising fully by going for high numbers of scoring shots alone. Moreover his hand speed is so outstanding that he can land 4 or 5 telling shots in a flurry which are undefendable as opposed to 7 or 8 lighter shots. 3. Use the jab more, he can win rounds from the jab alone and force the opponent to come onto him more, allowing his hand speed and combination punching to be even more potent. But the fact is that he is a phenomenal talent and the changes may not come (due to age and being set in his ways) but they are perfectly achievable and fairly straight forward. The point is that you are an irrational hater. You are someone who has openly said you will always pick PBFs opponent to win because you don't like him. Not that you will always want his opponent to win, but that you will actually predict a win for them regardless.atsch I don't let bias cloud my assessment of anything, which is why despite being a huge Hatton fan I picked PBF to win easily and why despite David Haye being my favourite fighter at the moment I have agreed that Wlad would KO him. You should try objectivity some time, it might make a refreshing change.
We can argue over this all day. Here's what did happen. Gamboa got hit flush, Gamboa hit the canvas, and the referee started counting.
but thats not what happened. Gamboa was pushed down, and the ref ruled a slip a knockdown. The punch that landed was before that sequence, and had no bearing on it whatsoever
And how many C level fighters dropped Trinidad? Quite a few. Didn't stop him having a pretty damn good career did it?
Or perhaps you're ruling a KD a slip. It's called a delayed reaction, that happens sometimes when you get hit in the head.
