You expect anyone to take af this **** seriously after your posting history? This thread just downgrades it further.
tell u what..lets have gamboa and orisha little friend(the unknown boricua)fight for 10 rounds..then we will see.(i doubt the portorro gonna go 2 rds!)
True, it can happen. It usually doesn't. Like in this case, when it does, it's usually because the fighter is leaning left already and throwing. But it rarely happens when a fighter is straight up.
Martinez...and GAMBOA WOULD BE A GREAT FIGHT... Now, lets stop giving akalades to GAMBOA, IT MAKES ME SICK...NOW HE WAS FIGHTING WITH A BAD RIGHT HAND...PLEASE... The facts are simple: 1. He is 26 years old...not a kid at 26 in the lower weights you are getting close to 30 , and that is the cutting line... 2. Defensive flaws 3. Chin....
1. In the lower weights, a lot of those guys have wars. And furthermore, they started their careers at a young age (Mexicans and PRs especially). This means by the time they reach 30-32, they are done. The same DOES NOT apply to Gamboa. Realistically, he could fight at a top level until his mid-30s. There's nothing really to suggest that he can't, until we actually SEE him slow down. Being that THAT can only be in a few years time, we obviously don't know yet. 2. I agree. 3. If that's the case, I can spend about 30-60 minutes (not much, when you think about it) of research to go over the history of ALL TIME GREATS and pick out how these fighters (even if they have proven to have great chins) have weak chins, because they were dropped once or twice early in their careers. So no, I don't think this is as big an issue as you make it out to be. I do agree with you that the over-rating of Gamboa must stop. I think he is the best propect in boxing (only in MY opinion, though, and probably a few others too) - but there's a BIG difference between a top fighter and a prospect, just as their is a BIG difference between POTENTIAL and ACCOMPLISHMENTS. ACCOMPLISHMENTS is realised potential. Very important.
Except the chin part isn't true. Flash KD's don't prove you're chinny, especially off balance. You will point out it's a fact that he was hurt, but most will disagree with you. It IS a fact that he was up before the count of 3 on each KD and came right back out attacking, which would lean towards him not being hurt. Gamboa doesn't have the wear and tear on his body that many lower weight fighters have at this age. Why does anyone need to stop being excited about a good fighter? That makes no sense. It annoys you, we get it. That is not a good enough reason for others to stop talking him up. I don't see you not doing something because it annoys others. That's a good thing BTW.
I don;t mind people talking about the cat, but praising an unproven boxers, is irresponsable and pretentious!!
