I hope this is clear to everyone. Some people have posted to 'not get on the train' until he's proven and use Bojado as an example, which has no relevancy at all. Normally hot 'overhyped' prospects show vulnerabilities to the level of fighters Gamboa's already fought, which are legit top 25's in 2 cases I believe. This next opponent, Jiminez, is a legit fringe contender, coming off a KO win over Mike Anchondo, so if Gamboa blasts this guy, or wins every single round and shows no vulnerability again what so ever, I don't want to hear any of that type of above logic because it has no validity. This guy is not a normal prospect, he's INCREDIBLE, it's amazing a Roy Jones Jr level talent popped up so soon afterward Jones' decline. Let's just hope he makes the right career choices and makes the maximum out of his career. Seems these Cuban's do enjoy to fight the best and have a warrior code of honour type machismo, which is the opposite of the money hungry style of fighter in the image of Joy Boy Mayweather. This Gamboa.... he's more than something special, he's incredible. I think he'd beat most top fighters at 126 and 130 as it stands now, much less when he hits his skill to ability peak. :good
Irish fight fan here! Heard shitloads about him, but havent seen him in action yet. Is he really that good? I mean with the RJJ comparison and all? What are his main attributes, or his he the total package?
I've seen Gamboa, and he is a special fighter. Super fast, superior footwork, great power, throws effortless combinations. The man may be the best thing to ever happen to boxing.
I don't know. DLH, Trinidad, and Mosley are all likely to retire at some point in the next few years; Alpha Dog wasn't really good enough to warrant a remake, and Marta likes 'em fat. :think
Do you guys realize why he said that? "The man may be the best thing to ever happen to boxing." :blood
