The same people saying Gamboa looked "weak" and "confused" are also playing along with the ridiculously high bar this guy's talents have set him. You can't have it both ways. If he sucks so bad, then don't expect so much from him so soon.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this pushover he just beat coldcock Celestino Caballero and give Chris John hell? I'd say a clinic against even an older version of that guy isn't such a bad result.

Good post, Fitzgerald cannot be watching the fight from an unbiased standpoint, he is probably a Valero fanatic who thinks Valero is a finished article, I call it being deluded myself. Gamboa will beat Chris John I believe because for 1 I cant see Chris John having the pop to hurt Gamboa and Gamboa is just too fast and will land consistently on John, even if it takes 2 or 3 rounds to break him down or to get inside.

John is a very technically sound boxer but if Rocky Juarez can tag him late into a fight what the hell is Gamboa going to do with all his speed, movement and timing and anticipation.

It's going to be curtains for Chris John the longer this fight goes.

For now, look to Gamboa to face another decent contender before fighting the winner of John-Juarez 2.

Linares isn't feather fisted at all you douche. He stopped a durable guy in Larios and KO'ed Gameli Diaz with a vicious right hand. Linares probaly would beat Gamboa if they fought now.

When he's not aggressively pursued then he's just a sitting duck ... I didn't like that about him. He lowers his skills and fights to the level of his opponent.

He also seemed to get wild and flustered when he seen that the guy he was fight was a counter puncher.

The stoppage was suspect ... in the case of the fight last night - that guys corner shouldve stopped the fight and not the ref, because although he was losing, he was never at the point where he wasn't competetive.

Terrible stoppage !!

Great post, I honestly don't see why everyone is saying that Linares is the **** and would beat Gamboa, Gamboa would beat him all around the ring. Gamboa/JuanMa is the match to see.
