Gamboa took a $70K advance on the fight. Taking the money is probably viewed as a contract by the courts, hence the lawsuit.

**** knows what he actually agreed to when he took the advance, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he agreed to the fight and the purse and then received a contract with a stipulation that he sign a new shitty deal with Top Rank, etc. But he took advance money for the fight, so he has to sign whatever they give him, right? :nut

Gamboa surely ****ed up.. But like you said, people are taking Arum's word as truth when they've not heard anything from the other side.. Instead of waiting to hear what really happened people want to point fingers and lay blame, and Arum is great at placing the blame on others. Arum's fighters want to face everyone, almost everyone outside of Top Rank is scared to face Arum fighters. ESB.

 

So you take a cash advance, and request a Press Conferance for your Home town fans because you didn't accept anything, signed or not implied acceptance is the same ****... Do you? I don't know what he agreed to when he took the money, but I do know that he stated that the fight contract he received (after he took the money) had a contract extension stipulation in it. :deal

 

i wish i could tell you its 100% true, but im just delivering what i know from people close to him.
there are plenty of rumors,but i wont be spreading them without confirmation.
