Gamboa claims he told them ahead of time that he wasn't going to any press conference until they sorted out his contract. Yes, it appears that he did agree to the fight and was given an advance, but does that mean he just automatically agreed to anything TR wanted to put in the fight contract that they hadn't even given him yet? Seriously, think about it. :think

On top of that, we're supposed to believe that this Abril dude was just there calling mother****ers out and got the fight by chance? Is anybody here really that ****ing dumb?

I don't know, he refused the Rios fight and he dissed Arum on this so called meeting. I think that is a pretty strong statement that he dosn't want to fight for Arum. He is making a stand on that. The Ali reference was made only to show that the overcome is a greater general than the defeat. Ali was fighting the goverment and thats automatic high exposure,plus there was a lot of firsts in what Ali was doing. Times are different now and things move a lot faster. Gamboa is only dealing with top rank, which is a formidible force but one that can be dealt with. There are people and organizations in and around boxing with just as much or more pull and money as Arum and know a good deal when they see one.Gamboa in the right hands is a money maker. I think that right now the wheels are turning in a positive direction for him and it will all come out in the wash.:bbb

My guess is, Gamboa tried to contact Arum without consulting his lawyer and when the lawyer found out, he told Gamboa to STFU and STFD and let him handle it.
