cw at 138 or 140. it's not like pac hasn't done it himself. he went up in weight to beat mab1, cotto, dlh, and margarito. ...and gamboa weigh in around 145 on fight night, 4lbs. less than pac. good fight.
Wow, Gamboa's going to look like an action figure(literally) at 147 LOL. 2-1 odds that he accidentally head butts the ref in the thigh at some point...
I say **** ya to this match up. I think in general I'd be willing to pay for this fight because of the amount of skill on display. I've bought most of the PPVs over the last couple of years. I mainly buy them because I want to see the best skilled fighters on a big screen with no lag time and HD. As a fan of the sport I enjoy watching the skill even if I know who is going to win. It would be a pleasure to see both these guys in the ring together. As far as the fight goes Gamboa has boxing skills that would give pacquiao problems. He has speed, experience and counter punching ability that could also give pacquiao some problems. He doesn't have the ability to KO paquiao (probably can't even hurt him) but he'd be able to land some good shots. Pacquiao could obviously **** him up and probably eventually would. For a while it would likely be a very good fight. FYI guys Gamboa is 5' 5 1/2" and Pac is 5' 6 1/2"; Pac has a 65inch to 67inch reach advantage. Not huge differences IMO.
someone psl make a comparison between: floyd-marquez pac-dela hoya pac-gamboa. lets forget about cheating in the scales for a while.
:-( fighting weight and walking around weight are totally different. You can't expect this man to come into the ring at 147 and be the same fighter at 126 and 130 with in a 6 month time unless you allowed him to take roids.
SURE! JMM calls out Floyd. Floyd schools Marquez, Marquez KTFO6 DaPEDran Floyd softened up DLH, Pac fights him at a lower division. Pac weighs more than DLH fight night. Pac ducking again, books April fight knowing Floyd fights in May. Gamboa who?
Guerrero off the loss to Floyd is still a better fight than Gamboa is at WW for Pacquiao or anyone else. Guerrero was referred to as a featherweight by many people critical of that fight despite having fought at FW over 5 years prior to entering the Floyd fight and having two fights' experience at WW. Gamboa fought at FW less than 3 years ago. He has never fought at WW before (like previous Pac opponent Rios). He has never fought above 135 pounds before. Lots of hypocrites to be made if Pacquiao/Gamboa goes through and gets heavily supported. Gamboa has fought twice in the last two and a half years against extremely low opposition relative to his lofty rankings. The latest that came from him was being popped as a customer of a PED supplier. I already listed the weight issue of never fighting at JWW or above before. He doesn't bring anything with excessive power at his recent weights alone to the table, as he's scored just 1 stoppage in his last 6 fights albeit good competition for the featherweight portion of that. I think bringing in Gamboa is just threats in negotiation for Bradley II or whatever they're working on. They can't be serious. The fact that Provodnikov, Guerrero, and Gamboa are options 2, 3, and 4 for a superstar like Pacquiao speaks volumes to the lack of options available at Top Rank and HBO for his weight. Especially when one of those is at Golden Boy and the other a FA.. Golden Boy's WW stable of Maidana, Broner, Porter, Alexander, Paulie, Guerrero, Thurman, in addition to the stacked rosters at neighboring 140 and 154 make a much more attractive position to be in for a WW star.
yeah yeah yeah, sure this is a good fight, this is bull**** and u guys know it. Gamboa Why isn`t Pac fighting a bigger guy
pacquaio is small aswell did you forget he came from 106 ? rios is naturaly much bigger then pacquaio
is pac going to cheat gamboa in the scales? that would be awful. at least floyd fight em on their comfortable wweight. oh wait.
