Although they both have their own distinct styles I think there's a lot of similarities between the two. Both were highly decorated amateurs who were expected to get pro titles within a few fights. They both fight/fought with a degree of arrogance, often not keeping their hands up and giving little respect to their opponants in the ring. They both have exceptional hand speed (Tszyu more so early in his career) and power. Tszyu was less naturally talented but probably a better chin. They both just kinda seem simlilar in the way they handle themselves in the ring. I think Gamboa will have a similar career to Tszyu. Destroying everyone in his path until he fails to take an opponant seriously a la Vince Phillips. But then rebuild and come back better for it.
They both have a superb sense of timing and distance, other than that I think they're quite different. Tszyu always respected his opponents something Gamboa has yet to learn and he will learn the hard way
Well I know that for example in his Olympic fight against Forrest, Tszyu did indeed keep his hands low, use a lot of head movement, and seemed to utilize his speed to greater effect. He did indeed look much like Gamboa does now, but i'm not sure how long after the amateurs he kept this style.
i don't know what you see but they look different to me... gamboa has superb excellent offense that comes from speed and power all together
zoo's chin was WAYYY better that gamboa's and his right hand was one of the most powerful in the 140 division, im not saying that gamboa lacks power but comparing him with tszyu is crazy
hahaha u got to be kidding me Gamboa wont be able to clean Kostya's boots one of the greatest ever fighter in the junior welter division, Kostya tszyu has fought fighters who have given him trouble gamboa is fighting people who dont, most really good fighters look like legends against bums, but kostya has looked good against great fighters which is hard to do! , even in style wise gamboa is way different kostya throws perfectly timed straight rights and has great vision and accuracy, gamboa is more of a strong figther who blasts through his opponents
