Hate to say it, but I agree. If Salido stays down and plays dead, he gets the DQ from Cortez.

You have to wonder though imagine if both fights ended in a DQ that would have looked bad for HBO ..

I hope not as the blow looked deliberate but I've seen more devastating. Golota-Bowe? Holyfield-Tyson? Cotto-Judah?

Nezy, I respectfully disagree. The punch didn't hurt Salido at all (even if he acted like it did). It deserved a point deduction but not a DQ.

is that how you like fighters to act, putting on Oscar worthy performances?

it wasn't that hard of a blow.cortez taking two points was the right thing to do.

had he of DQ'ed gamboa, there would of been massive uproar.

He's not a good actor. He should have stayed down and out. He already got the game. Fighting heart my ass.

I think otherwise. Gamboa doesn't have power. He did all he can to put him down but he cannot. He just looks good fighting.

Juan Ma will surely beat this guy.

The power of the punch is irrelevant. It was intentional. That's all that matters.

He tap him on d head, Salido is not an actor, stop d DQ $hit, he was given a boxing lesson by an "amateur" and he knew when d fight was over that he has loss, what do you want, a proud mexican fighter pull a Montell Griffin kind of act?

Cortez prolly had flashbacks to the Lorenzo-Soto fight in which he was berated for.

    Thank you.

At least with the Bika and Abraham punches you could argue that both those guys thought that the opponent was ducking or something.

No, what it matter if you r hurt, Rios was more hurt by Peterson low blows than Salido by d tap on d head, and he was punished, accordingly.

I think if Gamboa doesn't start showing a passion for the sport, his lazy antics and reliance on athleticism instead of using his fundamentals to pursue dominance is going to catch up with him. I originally had him beating Juanma but he just doesn't seem offensive minded enough or tight enough when he is.

Why the **** hit a man when down? Why?
