I think you were watching another fight, he hurt him in 2 and 4 round, he hurt him in 10, 11 and put him down twice in d 12th, and you r talking about a mexican fighter with d IBF belt and lots of experience, not to mention Salido was holding for dear life right before he lead with his head, causing him that nasty cut. Joe Cortez shows once again he is an incompetent referee.

It wasn't like I thought the outcome would be different
but Gamboa showed he lacks. To a point I am giving Lopez a chance. Specially if there is a good ref who wont allow Gamboa to hold or rabbit punch.

 

He was d one that initated d exchange, or you just have eyes for what is wrong with Gamboa, d same thing happened with Casamayor vs. Freitas and Cortez took d point from Casamayor and called a phantom knockdown, at d end that was d difference, a mistake by Cortez.

 

This is more of a clear DQ than the Abraham DQ in the Dirrel fight.

 

Cortez DQ'd Soto for hiting a down Lorenzo with a punch that was less intentional. Abraham got DQ'd for hitting a downed Dirrell with a shot that didn't appear to be that intentional like the Gamboa shot. But the differance in these two cases is that the downed opponent appeared to not be able to continue.

So If Salido would of just layed down and said," I can't see, I can't see, I can't continue..." then would Joe Cortez of DQ'd Gamboa?

 

you guys are idiots its a 2 point deduction if the fighter can continue...if he can't then its an automatic DQ....with AA vs dirrell....dirrell lost consciousness so of course the doctor would not let the fight continue...The only thing is not sure he counted the knockdown correctly for gamboa in the 12th round.
