Yep! There is a double standard here. Abraham was disq but Gamboa was not! He should have taken acting lessons from Dirrell!

    Lopez will knock Gamboa out!

Gamboa should have been disqualified tonight. Abraham was disq because he hit Dirrell while down. Gamboa not only hit his opponent while he was down, he hit him behind the head! Why double standard? Hitting while down = illegal Hitting behind the head = illegal!

That definitely should have been a DQ
Dirrill took advantage and put on a masterful performance by shaking his body and pretending to be unconscious by Abraham's illegal blow. Salido was able to continue but that was a blatant illegal blow to the back of the head. Dirrill could have continued in his fight against Abraham but decided to be a *****. Abraham's blow did not seem like a punch that really hurt Dirrill and was not a deliberate blow like Gamboa's.

Could have been DQ'd. I was hoping he wouldn't be as long as Salido wasn't hurt. I think he may have done it because Cortez didn't call it a knock down. I never known Gamboa to be a dirty fighter. I think in this case the 2 points was enough. night full of fould though, Peterson teed off on Rios below the belt a bunch of times.

He is a dirty fighter. Head, shoulders, and wtf is up with the way he hold. He like sticks out his head and leans on you. That weird. he just uses his head way too much.

    Yes, this is the problem.

Any fighter now knows having seen this and Soto/Lorenzo knows that if they take any kind of punch however soft when down when Cortez is refereeing they should play dead and the opponent gets dq's but if they get up he doesn't.

Basically incentivising people to fake it.

It looked more intentional. Most here agree that Gamboa should have been DQ'd.

Yeah, Cortez is an experienced ref but apparently, he is blind to headbutts. Gamboa tried to headbutt Salido several times and succeeded at least 2 times, the last one causing a cut above Salido's eye but Cortez failed to see it.

If the foul causes an injury but the bout continues, the referee orders the judges to deduct two points from the boxer who caused the injury.
