Yes, it's an over-the-hill 37 year old version of Norwood, but unless his skills have completely eroded off the face of the earth, Norwood has the MOST UNDERRATED RESUME from 130 on down for the last 15 years. In his heyday, the 42-2 (23) Norwood has claimed the scalps of: 1. Vuyani Bungu (future 122 linear champ) 2. Mauricio Martinez (future WBO 118 champ) 3. Antonio Cermeno (future WBA 122 and 126 champ) 4. Julio Pablo Chacon (future WBO 126 champ) 5. Takashi Koshimoto (future WBC 126 champ who dethroned Black's idol, In-Jin Chi)...by brutal KO 6. JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ (Black's other obsession and beltholder at 126 and 130)...by UD no less He only has 2 losses. One was when he lost his title to Gainer by stoppage, and another in his last bout at age 37. Gamboa will probably stop him now, but man, that's quite a resume for anyone who never really tasted a big money fight.
After this fight, Gamboa is looking to win a regional belt...than he might already get an eliminator which could lead to a shot at any champion at 126 or 130...
pretty stupid imo. He is getting used to fighting bums:-( :huh They can get much better 8 round fights for him that are not mismatches. That he is not protected just seems that way because he is getting better opposition then normal. But point is he is not normal, so his opposition should also not be normal:hey Don't get me wrong, I might be sceptical but I am a huge fan of him and the way he fights. Peace!
Pac vs. Marquez was very close, and Pac dropped Juan 3 times in the opening round. Peeps still cry that Marquez was robbed in this one. atsch
Well that is exactly what it is NOT. It is not a fact as it's not officialy on paper. Fact is that Freddie won. That you THINK that he got robbed is your OPINION. But don't worry I am just being very annoying I haven't seen the fight so I don't/can't judge. Peace man.
Don't hate on Gamboa's opp yet. His handlers are just building names on his resume. He hasn't reached double digits in fights yet. I usually don't agree with Tom_Tocca, but I do this time. Gamboa will have a regional belt in 6-12 months with the skills and domination he's shown so far.
